Nice #112... (thumbs u
I no longer own a copy.
I used to own a NM copy once.
When I bought it off the newstand when I was a kid.
I kept it in decent shape though, but it wasn't high-grade anymore...(I was only 10 yrs. old). I eventually sold it in NJ back in 1978, with most of my collection at the time. I miss that book, I should have a copy.
Great book, Mark...

This is suppose to be the hardest to find of the 3 but this is the one I got first.
#1 which is suppose to be the easiest to find is the only one I don't have.
Great Gustavson cover... he is really underrated.
Does this book have Gustavson interiors as well? Do these Arrow books reprint Funny Pages stories, or are they all new material?
Good question Ryan.
I know some are Funny Page reprints and also other centaur stuff is reprinted as well. I don't know actually if all the Arrow stories are reprints since I haven't read every Arrow story. So, they could be entirely reprints, just not sure. Maybe JB would like to chime in on that question.

Thanks Bob!!! (thumbs u
Love these Centaurs...

Picked up a book from Rick ("G.A.tor") today.
I'm very pleased with the purchase, I think Rick is now my fav dealer...you always know what you're getting.
I thought I would post it here because this thread has been dormant for a while, and with all the "Billy Wright" fever going on, this is still the thread to post your Centaurs gentlemen.
Way to go, Joe! I was sorely tempted to pick up that particular copy as a dupe, but glad you were able to score it.
Thanks Steve!!! I'm glad you didn't take it...
If you want another, I think Metro still has that 6.5 on their website...

$58.65 (and I probably thought I overpaid)
Star Ranger books have a special place in my heart. <3
The 1st Centaur I ever bought was Star Ranger #2.
I'd say going by the recent prices, you made out like a bandit.... (thumbs u

That is a beauty!
Yeah, but it's not mine....
I was wondering if any "Board Members" won this in the Heritage auction???
-
Thanks Ryan... (thumbs u
I'm looking forward to reading that sequence...

Being a Centuar collector myself I have saved Win's WINdex ratings whenever possible. Here are the KDF & FP WINdex lists. The higher the number, the harder to find that issue.
The toughest issues of KDF are, in approximate order:
v1#10 (the toughest)
v1#9 (brutal as well)
-gap-
v2#1
v1#11
v1#8
#22
v2#4
v2#7
#21
-gap-
v2#8
v2#2
v2#6
#20
#19
#18
#23
There are 6 others that are tricky to varying degrees, depending on your luck at the time
-gap-
#24
v2#9 (these are the only two that I would consider easy)
Here are the scarcity numbers that go with the KDF's.
v1#8......23
v1#9......27
v1#10....27
v1#11....26
v2#1......21
v2#2......19
v2#3......19
v2#4......26
v2#5......18
v2#6......21
v2#7......26
v2#8......23
v2#9......9
v2#10....16
v2#11....15
v2#12....18
v3#1......17
18.........17
19.........22
20.........20
21.........26
22.........26
23.........21
24.........10
I just picked up a copy of KDF 2/7 from Rick....and wanted to add that although Win has it as a 26 on his Windex...I think it would be more like a 22/24 now, since a couple of copies have come up for sale since Win did his scarcity index.
The latest being the Billy Wright which is a CGC 9.4. Did any "Board members" win this copy???

Arrow #3 is a tough book. I had it as one of the "tough" Centaurs, and removed it so as not to draw much attention to it. It is easily the hardest of the three Arrow books to acquire. Thanks for posting. (thumbs u
By the way, I don't know if you know it Bo_Hogg, but a couple of years ago you outbid me on a Star Ranger #2 that was on e-bay....it looked very nice...could you post a scan of that book please...Thanks in advance. Joe

I wonder about my new acquisition. Only graded copy...
Very cool book, Jeff - I know of only 4 others (mine just recently purchased, and three other Boardies), so your B.W. makes 5.
Those Star Comics can be very tough...
I have a raw copy of this book.
Haven't been here in a couple of days...nice books!!!
Great book one and all... (thumbs u
And I do not have a copy....

Wow....I haven't been on this thread in a while...and I see a lot of nice Centaurs for the first time...
Very nice AMF 2/10 Steve.

What was the grade on the AMF 2/4 Steve???
Here are a few more that are somewhat rare, that were not not mentioned yet.
AMF 2/2
DPS 2 & 3 (although I know of 3 copies of #3 which have turned up lately), so maybe nix that one.
FPS 2, 3, & 4
Little Giant 4
Star 3,4,5, 6, 13 (we all know about 11).
Star Ranger 3, 4, 6
Keen Komics 1
Cowboy 13
These are some that I consider tough books, just off the top of my head.
The other Centaurs already mentioned in this thread, are the obvious ones though in my opinion.
I'd like to hear if any of these are not rare in other centaur circles....Thanks!!! (thumbs u
OK....just got home from work...time to sleep now...

Simply a beautiful run...Now if you could pick up that Marvel Mystery #9 (Billy Wright) , that would make a nice filler copy.
All kidding aside....just fantastic copies of one of the best runs in comics period.

Enjoying some GA on the rooftop area of our hotel in Singapore
When my wife and I were traveling by Amtrak last summer all through the Rockies it seemed like every camper and kayaker had CRACK to show off as the train passed.
Seriously, nice photo, Pons! (thumbs u
Vacation? Business? Do you OWN the hotel? Tell us more about the trip.
Business for me, vacation for my wife
Here is a better photo of the hotel. Amazing place
And check out the crazy rooftop pool. Not for the faint of heart
And finally, a shot of downtown Singapore at night
I have heard that Singapore and Shanghai are amazing. Most of the manufacturing jobs are in the far east these days.
Great pics Bill
I saw something in Travel & Leisure magazine that this hotel's rooftop deck was ranked one of the best on the planet. I can see why. (thumbs u
I want to go to Singapore & Shanghai also...just be sure you keep your Crack pipe outta sight over there, or you'll never see the light of day again...
What Are the Rarest Centaur Books?
in Golden Age Comic Books
Posted · Edited by Blind Owl
Jon....you have come through for us again.
I knew some were reprints, just wasn't sure about all of them.
Also appreciate the history on one of Centaurs earliest heroes.
Maybe you should write a centaur book. I'd buy a copy. (thumbs u
Thanks....
