  1. Do you think there’s a difference between witnessed and authenticated?
  2. There’s a very interesting development occurring at CGC which will affect a lot of Bone collectors like myself: https://www.cgccomics.com/news/article/12753/ It says all the big announcements will come in April, specifically what Qualified grades would transition to as well as pricing.
  3. I imagine there’s no way these would be given a yellow label.
  4. This is an older image that many of you have probably seen but I just wanted to say that the Kickstarter hardcover for Thorn looks pretty damn good. Cartoon Books continues to produce well-crafted books thru their Kickstarter campaigns:
  5. I’m with you there. He has gone to just about every SDCC since the beginning of Bone so I’ll be following the creator guest announcements. Will definitely post anything of interest here.
  6. Image #27 is the only version.
  7. After his cardiac arrest last year, it’s unknown whether or not he’ll do shows anymore.
  8. Progress, thank you for this. Now the other ten 9.8s that were added over the last month or two…do they have scans that can be verified? The likelihood that any of these were legit is pretty low, unless customers were adding previously graded books for the newer label.
  9. I never thought of that. Perhaps the graders are looking at the “Vengeance of” instead of the foiled “Vampirella”
  10. For the graders to do this in the most simple way possible, they need to always have a true mass produced, second printing on-hand (which were all manufactured with the same colored cover). Just about anyone who isn’t colorblind would be able to tell the difference under the same lighting. In fact, I don’t think anyone who’s willing to spend big money on the true Blue cover has ever been fooled by the CGC label. Additionally, all the eBay sellers I’ve come across either know the difference or change their descriptions/pricing when notified about the error. Unfortunately, the only people who haven't learned how to distinguish between the two second print covers are the CGC graders, but this can easily be fixed if they’re willing to do so
  11. Thank you sir. Hopefully this can be worked out. The price difference and overall significance between the two books is massive.
  12. I looked at the recent census numbers for this book and there are now eleven 9.8s of the Second Printing/Blue Foil edition (was previously at 0 a few weeks ago). I’ll wager that most of these, if not all, are the green second printing like the eBay auction above. Is there anything that can be done about this? Is it possible to send the scans of the graded examples to people who know the difference and get it changed in the registry? I’m sure myself and @RockMyAmadeus can help you guys out
  13. To put this into context, these are the Comic Images release numbers for the 1994 Bone Series I set: 2500 cases produced with 12 boxes per case. There were 100 sketch cards made for the set so they appeared at a rate of 1 per 25 cases or 1 per 300 boxes. Including the latest sale, I’ve seen 7 of these come up on eBay since late 2006. The last one was in August 2014 for a Buy It Now price of $199.99 which sold in seconds. The last auction was in May 2014 for $334 with a slight smudge on the “S” in Smith. I figured this example would get in the 800s but only two people made bids. Perhaps a lower opening bid would have been helpful.
  14. This is a problem: 4386556015 Graded on 2/19/24 and clearly NOT a blue foil edition. This needs to stop before it becomes a real problem again @CGC Mike Thank you to @RockMyAmadeus for highlighting the eBay listing.
  15. Anyone see the auction for the Bone Series 1 sketch card on eBay? I thought it went low.
  16. Looks like the 9.8 CBCS of Bone #1 with Verified Sig & Sketch is back up on eBay
  17. The pics above tell me that it is indeed a blue foil edition. Did it come with a COA?
  18. I figured that much out but I wanna know what "one left to get" means and what he showed. You can show the encased books but crop out the label and let us know what the grade is.
  19. So what happened here? I don’t understand
  20. Yeah, this was my fault. Signature and sketch are BOTH on the inside cover which means it could be a universal blue label (unless this policy has changed). My bad
  21. The CBCS 9.8 of Bone #1 with a “verified” signature on the cover and sketch on the inside cover that sold at auction on ComicLink back in May, sold on eBay a few days ago for a best offer price of $12k. The book itself is probably a 9.8, from what I can see, but on the lower end (would be qualified according to CGC). This was a really good sale for the ComicLink buyer who takes home a nice windfall and I don’t think the buyer thru eBay will be disappointed
  22. People who contributed to the Thorn Kickstarter campaign were sent PDFs of the finished book. I don’t think that the physical copies will be published and delivered before Spring time.
  23. Me too. Can’t make myself read the PDF for my first viewing.
  24. Has anyone read the Thorn PDF from the Kickstarter campaign?
