  1. The original, black & white TPBs are actual size. No bags, boards, or tape needed.
  2. Except for Crown of Horns, though they may get cheaper when the color version is released. I only have readers of #50-55 at the moment and I'm not a fan of the phonebook (pages are too small for me).
  3. Kudos to Scrooge for some Bone readers. I'm still at 100% satisfaction in regards to board purchases! Thank you Michael for continuing the streak!!
  4. I priority-mailed my check yesterday. One of them sold on ebay last week for $250+. The site where you order them doesn't say "SOLD OUT" yet so they're probably still available. In regards to it having "all of the Thorn strips" reprinted, unfortunately, this isn't the case. The book contains 64 strips that constitute the highlights of his three year run at the OSU newspaper (I'm guessing there's at least three times as many in all). I suppose they're leaving the door open for another book.
  5. You're sorta right. I find these moments to be the most annoying of the series. However, if you take the series as a whole, there's only a small sprinkling of anthropomorphic animals (if you don't count the rat creatures that is). The storylines in which the occur the most are the following: Out From Boneville (Bone #1-5) & Rock Jaw: Master of the Eastern Border (Bone #28-32). Only Roque Ja, a giant mountain lion, is a major character. While we're on the subject, here's a shot of my Cartoon Books Bone #4:
  6. There's been a glut of these on ebay the last few weeks. Other than the signature and number, is there anything extra in this book (additional artwork, forwards, etc.)?
  7. Have you ever held or seen one in person? From your scan, it looks like it was professionally made but not seeing one graded led me to believe they may be closer to what the Gobbledygooks look like and would thus be easier to counterfeit (I read that this is the reason the original Gobbledygooks won't be graded by CGC). I believe the two that were sold late last year were listed as Fine+ and Very Fine. There was one that kept going up on ebay a couple months ago without an image. Every other day I'd ask the seller for a picture with no reply. Users kept bidding on it though, but it never reached the reserve nor did it ever have scan.
  8. Ugh..I've had my share of those posts whenever I mention this comic on these boards. Perhaps this thread can stay clean...
  9. Does anyone know if Thorn: Tales From the Lantern can be graded (Grails, perhaps)? I've wondered this for awhile until I heard about the problems associated with grading the Mirage Studios' Gobbledygooks and figured there were possible counterfeits out there. The seller who sold all those graded Bone comics between October & December put two of them up for auction during this period and I'm 99% certain that he would have sent them to CGC if he could (in fact, he was the seller of those PGX Gobbledygooks a couple months ago). Anyone have any insight?
  10. I know I'm in a small minority of people who collect CGC Bone comics but I thought it would be nice to see what we all have stashed away in our collections. My eventual goal is to have a complete set of #1-55 with the following additions: Sourcebook #1, 10th Anniversary #1, #12 Wizard Ace Edition, #13 1/2, Trilogy Tour I #1, Trilogy Tour II #1, Rose #1-3, Stupid Stupid Rat Tails #1-3, and the Holiday Special. Every three or four months I'll be sending raws to CGC that I'll hopefully display here. The following are a couple recent additions to my primary set: See my post in general for the story behind this one! : Self-Submission, tied for the highest grade with two others : I have a few more that I've acquired this year but I'll save them for later posts. Most of these books have beautiful, bright covers and they display quite well. Show us what you got... (thumbs u
  11. GIANT KUDOS to Annihilus for helping me acquire my Modern Grail! Will let people see next week.
  12. Kudos to FlyingDonut for some excellent raw HG Bone books!! (thumbs u
  13. Here's a few books I've bought over the last month. In regards to the Bone books, some dude bought rolo40's entire collection of high grade Bone issues in one auction (#1-55, Rose mini, Rat Tales mini, Sourcebook, etc.) so it looks like I'll permanently be #2 in the registry. However, I'm still looking to have the best of the first ten as well as a collection of my favorite covers. The #27 is apparently really hard to get in high grade with a couple 9.4s as the highest (rolo said he sent about 30 of them in and only two or three came back above 9.0). The DKRs are dupes that I bought for a good price and will be ready for SS if Miller ever does another signing.
  14. Kudos to Mephisto for a great transaction on a Batman SS book...
  15. Yeah, they're sitting there almost by themselves. There are only four other sets: three of them with just one comic each and the other with no comics. Just looking for #1-10 and my favorite covers from the rest.
  16. The following was a major addition to my Bone collection courtesy of the guy who once owned nearly 90% of all Bone comics in the CGC census (eBay user ID: rolo40). Lucky for me he also lives in my city so a pickup was much appreciated. Green with signature & sketch Green with signature, second highest grade Second highest grade Second highest grade Alex Ross cover, second highest grade Highest graded, given to me as a generous bonus
  17. A big kudos to comicdey for some slabbed Watchmen comics. Bought them raw then worked out a deal for bonuses if they hit the grades I wanted. He did all the leg and paperwork for their submission to CGC but the comics themselves didn't hit the grades we set out for. He generously replaced one of the comics I bought raw with another Watchmen issue that came back with a better grade. Though it didn't come out the way we wanted, thank you for all your hard work!
  18. Kudos to cd4ever for the great Watchmen books. Quick shipping and very secure packaging...thank you!
  19. This book marks the first of my copper DC sets that I've completed with 9.8s. The 407 is fairly hard to find in this grade so I'm pretty proud.
  20. Just need the #1 for a complete 9.8 collection.
  21. Kudos to AlexH for a deal on five SS books. Fantastic everything!

  23. Kudos to october for the fast shipment and excellent packing of a raw Bone #3!!
