  1. The other mini-series produced between #37 & #38. Beautifully painted by Charles Vess whose sig I hope to add some day.
  2. Don't know if many of you have read this mini-series which came out during the year long hiatus between #37 & #38. I've always liked the main character but have been annoyed by the rest of them. Sketch of Big Johnson Bone isn't great. I'm guessing he probably doesn't get this request all that much and the pen was a little too thick. Still like the book and signature though and it's a nice upgrade from my 9.6 SS.
  3. #46 is the other series book that is perfect for a sketch. Carlos also got a Steve Hamaker signature as well (he was the colorist for most of the covers as well as the color TPBs). This and the #39 were both signed at this year's Heroes Con.
  4. Bone #39 is a classically tough all-black cover with a large blank space that's perfect for a small sketch. The design of the Great Red Dragon doesn't lend itself to a quick and sharp sketch but I think Jeff did pretty well. He threw in a Ted for good measure too.
  5. Below are the latest additions to my collection. Big thanks go out to GOTHAMCENTRAL as well as Joel Elad for helping me get these books signed over the summer. I've finally cleared the 50% completion hurdle too. It will be long and enjoyable journey towards 75%.
  6. Latest Jeff Smith Signature Series haul!! Witnessed by GOTHAMCENTRAL at Heroes Con (Great Red Dragon & Ted sketch) Witnessed by GOTHAMCENTRAL at Heroes Con (Phoney sketch & bonus Steve Hamaker Signature) Witnessed by GOTHAMCENTRAL at Baltimore Diamond Retailers Summit Witnessed by GOTHAMCENTRAL at Baltimore Diamond Retailers Summit (Big Johnson Bone sketch didn't turn out great but still love the book & signature ) Witnessed by GOTHAMCENTRAL at Baltimore Diamond Retailers Summit (Fone sketch) Witnessed by GOTHAMCENTRAL at Baltimore Diamond Retailers Summit (Smiley sketch)
  7. Big Kudos to GOTHAMCENTRAL for my latest haul of Jeff Smith SS books. Joel Elad also helped these along so thanks to him as well!! Pics will be up soon in the Infinite Signature and Bone Appreciation threads.
  8. I can count four who will bid above a certain level for double digit Bone issues. There are several who try to win for $25 or less. The Bone movie is at least three years away (only scripting at this point) and there have always been rumors & announcements so I don't think this has much to do with anything. The economy coming down hard on 20 and 30 somethings is the more likely reason. Plus, I have most of these books in raw 9.8 so my bids have been absent. The #55 SS hurt me though.
  9. Fourteen months ago, CGC'd Bone books were selling at an all-time high. Now they're selling at an all-time low. Any thoughts out there?
  10. Looks like a 9.4 at least. Good luck!
  11. Wait, so this didn't come "Back From CGC"?
  12. nice copy.what`s a 9.0 go for nowadays? I am looking something in that grade range. The copy above is on Comiclink for a fair price. Last 9.0 sale was back in May for $675.
  13. Too many 9.6s put up for sale earlier in the year is my guess. Collectors have been bidding low on all the series books for awhile now so I'm not surprised. Still higher than the last $1300 sale back in June, though - which shows that there's still people willing to shell out a sizeable chunk of change for this book in this grade. I concur, but it has taken a hit (considering the three sales before the $1300 were between $1900 & $2250). Three of the four that sold in April/May went to the same buyer so the pool hasn't drained that much. I think everyone's just bidding lower.

  15. Personally, I rank Ghost Circles at #8 just above my least favorite chapter, Rock Jaw: Master of the Eastern Border (too many cutesy talking animals in that one). Treasure Hunters and Crown of Horns are much better reads.
  16. Did you ever read any of the B&W issues before reading the color edition? I've briefly read a few, but not really. Looking at both versions, the color version is far more appealing to me. It's like the b/w art was MADE to be colored, it just adds so much depth. Cerebus, on the other hand, has so much gray tone and shading that the color isn't needed. I feel precisely the opposite. Enjoy the rest of the story!

  18. Didn't mean to make my post sound like an offense.
  19. Thanks cyber! I've slowed down my purchasing and submitting since April but I should have new books every once in a while. The fact that Colin got banned has put a hurt on this thread too. At present, my goal is to acquire the highest possible blue label grades for #1-11 and mostly yellow labels for the rest (my raws sent to witnesses). Should have a few more in the near future. The #37 is probably my favorite SS so far. Very nice. I have raw 6-10 that I need to get sent in myself. Im still trying to decide if I want to go through with collecting the whole series or just do a 1-10 run and sell off the rest of my slabs. So a random note that you might find interesting. Right now I am currently in Israel on business and Bone is apparently very, very popular out here. The TPB's are being sold in Hebrew at all the book stores. I've seen blurbs stating that it's been translated into several languages but I've never heard how well the non-English books do. 1-10 is tough but it'll be fun. Other than your #1 do you have any of the first five in slabs? Sure. I have all the first five in slabs Including Colins old #2 that really could use a resub J That #2 used to be mine which used to be rolo's.
  20. It's been discussed earlier in this thread I think. Personally, I've lost interest in trying to obtain one. Sellers ask way too much for low grade copies.

  22. Glad you took the trip! I agree with your thoughts on the ending. I love the first act and really like the second act, but the third is only so-so IMHO. Love the saga as a whole though and have always enjoyed collecting them.

  24. Signed at SDCC '09 & witnessed by Joel Elad.
  25. Next is #37. This is the last issue in the second act of the Bone saga (Old Man's Cave storyline). Other than the Bone Sourcebook, I think it's the only cover with all the major characters included. Big thanks to Joel Elad for both of these beauties!
