  1. The seller's a boardmember...maybe he'll put a pic up himself.
  2. The #1 always gets good prices no matter what the grade.
  3. Also picked this baby up from PhiGam. #11 is the last of the Bone books printed with the infamous low-quality paper that has doomed a lot of the earlier issues from ultra high grades (these issues are also a couple centimeters wider than #12-55). Only eleven 9.8s exist among the first eleven books so I'm excited to have this in my collection.
  4. Well it broke the $2000 mark - I'm going to blame you!!!! Interesting. I wouldn't pay anything close to that myself when a nice 9.6 can be had for under $300, but I'm glad overall. Maybe this sale and the release of an actual full-length trailer for the movie can stir up a little interest in the books, which have otherwise been in free-fall (at least certified copies) for the better part of the last year. it didnt break 2g! sorry, sorry - my bad - I thought it was referring to the one currently on E-Bay... many apologizes... WHITE pages are expensive.
  5. Jeff needs to sell the OA for the extraneous artwork pictured above. I'd love the snowman Red Dragon...
  6. Here is a recent pick-up of mine from the former rolo40/crackbacks set that was acquired by PhiGam. The #5 first print is by far the hardest book in the Bone series to get in ultra high grade and this is the one & only 9.4 sitting atop the census. This is also the first appearance of Lucius Down that I'd like to have added to the label sometime in the future. Thank you Colin for letting it go!!
  7. someone stole it at $1601! NICE! Was that your copy? If so, congrats!
  8. I lump Jonathan in with Euclid and Wendell. I think they're too minor (I'll guess their 1st appearance is in #5 with Lucius). Though Tarsil actually does stuff, he's in the same boat as the Barrelhaven crew.
  9. Ok, here's my list of Bone comics that don't have the following info on their labels: #4 - 1st appearance of Kingdok and The Hooded One #5 - 1st appearance of Lucius Down #23 - 1st appearance of Bartleby #28 - 1st apperance of Rogue Ja SPOILER ALERT (highlight to read) #53 - "Death" of Lucius Down and The Hooded One Possibly #36 as well - Identity of The Hooded One revealed Any others that may deserve label additions?
  10. , that looks like a nice copy too. That reminds me...who would we talk to at CGC to request label additions on particular issues? There are a few first appearances of major characters in the Bone series that aren't noted.
  11. The one on ComicLink is only at $613 with less than seven hours to go. Someone's gonna steal it.
  12. There are definitely plenty of that issue in 9.8 SS, but it may be the only one with those three signatures.
  13. I own 16 lone top census books and two in which I own all the highest examples (all thanks to the witnesses I've worked with ). They've all been posted before but here's my favorite. There is a very funny scene in this particular comic that involves Ted the Bug, so the sketch adds a lot for me.
  14. You were bidding on the eBay one so you obviously want a second copy, right? You should be ecstatic.
  15. Anyone else see the latest census update on #1s? There were eight new slabs, six of which were Universal 9.6s (another one was a qualified 9.2 and one other somewhere below 8.5). They're as common as dirt now.
  16. Not to burst your bubble, but I know of at least one other SS CGC 9.8 copy. I wonder who it was that had what was the only SS 9.8 and had their bubble burst when they saw this posting? Kinda like when you got your Watchmen #6 9.8 SS.
  17. Yea I was kind of expecting to see more action to be honest. Still not too shabby a price! Were you trying to pick up a second copy?
  18. Why would you not read it? Since it's in landscape mode, I think it would look strange in a slab. The comic strips inside are only a small sampling of what's in Thorn: Tales From The Lantern.
  19. It'll be exciting to see where this thing goes. Will it approach $2k?
  20. The other two (9.4 #3 & 9.4 #4) should be interesting as well. It's been almost a year since a 9.4 #4 (or anything higher) has come to market and only the 9.8 of #3 has been on the auction block for over a year and a half (9.4 and above). Good luck Colin!
  21. The Hooded One only appears on three first print covers and this was the last. Every one of those appearances have been difficult to find in ultra high grade too, so I was happy to acquire this one. What is Jeff's obsession with darkly colored covers (not to mention those darn black back covers)? It continues into RASL too. Ugh...
  22. This 10th Anniversary book came out between #44 and #45 in the summer of 2001. It was the first time Cartoon Books depicted the story portion of Bone in a full color comic book (Disney Adventures magazine reprinted Bone #1-6 in color during the mid to late 90s). The back of the book contains an interesting eight page analysis of Jeff's storytelling style that includes pics of early drafts of the opening splash drawn on yellow college ruled paper. When you bought this issue at a comic store, you also received a " free" PVC figure of Fone Bone (sorta explains the $5.99 price ). Not many of these were printed so it can be a struggle to find one in ultra high grade. The one below was purchased as a slab from Grails then autographed by Jeff at the Flying Colors Comics signing (witnessed by Joel Elad).
