  1. I think the cropping issue is innocent. Based on auction ending times and how he's not clearly showcasing the ones that are slabbed makes me think he just isn't an expert. Just my hunch.
  2. I've made no secret of my love for Everett Marvel Boy covers. I love the #3 so much - it's just a work of art. I don't see a #4 in the group shot?
  3. Absolutely - makes total sense. So I guess I'm asking if people think last night was an outlier or if the lower grade PPP is moving up?
  4. No. It is not a 20K/ point book. The 31 sold for 43K, is that it's new ppp? No to that also. +1 A lot more people in the shallow end of the pool than in the deep end. Also I'm sure we'll see the C-1 Tec 37 in a blue holder soon at auction so that price not a big surprise. Hoping people will indulge me as I have some questions and if anyone knows it's this group. Since at least 2 people were willing to pay $20k/pt for that 1.5, what do you mean it's not a $20k/pt book? Is the feeling that it's not worth that much at all and this was a one time event? Or is it worth something close to that only in low grades? Just wondering - I've made no secret that I felt the 29 has been long undervalued. Any opinions appreciated.
  5. Well there ya go. Tec 29 in 1.5 just sold for $30,029. $20k a point. Now we're talking.
  6. Yes, please......might as well "JUMP" I bought mine last year not only because it's a great book but...and I know this isn't exactly apples to apples....I just can't figure why it doesn't get Action 7 love.
  7. I saw that 29 but not the eye appeal I would want for that grade. I know my 31 looks bad but on that comic I took first thing I could find. Agreed. That missing piece is pretty distracting. Still think it could go for maybe $12-15K. Wow! $20,000 with 11 days to go. Impressive.

  9. I'm glad you didn't get the grader notes. Spine has issues but cover is attached at both staples and probably 4" of spine splitting. Now all I need are 27 and 29. I can see me getting the 29 one day but 27 I would have to sell all in my sig line plus a few more items for a decent presenting low grade copy. "Affordable" 29 coming up in CConnect. http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=658792
  10. Well, I've been buying and selling on here for 9 years. Starting to feel inadequate without one of these. I'll go see if I can get anyone to vouch for me.
  11. .... A little early for you to be shopping for my X-Mas present...... but what can I say .....I can hardly wait. GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) Now Jim, if this was for you it'd have White pages. This one only has OW/W. And I know that's totally unacceptable.
  12. My experience has been that when the book is graded the notes are available online on your own submissions page. Only problem I've seen is that submissions drop off of that page after 6 months. Def anyone can pay for grader's notes (like $10 a pop) at any time if you have the CGC number. Think that's right.
  13. Granted, this Tales from the Crypt 46 is more scarce than earlier issues, and this one displays better than the assigned grade...but am I missing something? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tales-from-the-Crypt-46-CGC-Comic-5-5-OW-W-Pages-EC-Pre-Code-Horror-/401093559564?hash=item5d630a050c%3Ag%3AOPkAAOSwAvJW8n-1&nma=true&si=FOJt2fRwDZyENxjvsB5hdmiGZZ0%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  14. Nice work - I'd agree with the grade based on the scan so that's a pretty decent price. Especially on that book of late.
  15. I've always been curious about what exactly was going on on this cover. I see a porthole so I assume they are on a ship and the man is the captain or mate. But the smokey demon and ten dollar bills? Well, if I recall...guy with magic mirror conjures up a demon and sends him to a tugboat captain who is preparing to shortchange him on a deal.
  16. Gonna have to change this thread to "Wonder Woman every 4 months thread". C'mon now...the books are hot...she's gonna be on the big screen...need more love here. On a complete whim I picked this up on the 'bay and it arrived today. First WW purchase. I just think the cover is outstanding.
  17. You guys see this one? Is it better than the GD+ it was described as or just doesn't come up very often. I see 4 bidders over $300 which is pretty darn strong. Strange Suspense Stories #19 Ditko http://www.ebay.com/itm/Strange-Suspense-Stories-19-7-1954-Classic-Ditko-Electricution-Cover-G-/322022129291?_trkparms=gh1g%3DI322022129291.N36.S2.R5.TR9&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&autorefresh=true&nma=true&si=FOJt2fRwDZyENxjvsB5hdmiGZZ0%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
  18. I've posted this one before but here's the Bethlehem of the 4. Still looking for a high grade 6....
  19. Arrived today. Bottom corner crease and slight tear at top of FC, but sure looks better than the 6.0 it got. Just love this cover SO much.
  20. Not sure what's going on with the spine but if cover is attached I could go G/VG. Hard to tell exactly though - could be nicer I bought an MT 19 for about $600 raw on ebay a year or two ago and it didn't look spectacular in the pics (with pages possibly a bit brittle) but came back a 5.0 with CR/OW. Admittedly, I took a chance but happy with result.
