  1. Hi all - 5 books for sale here tonight. Prices include USPS Priority shipping in the US - international will have to pay actual. PayPal is accepted means of payment. I'll accept returns within 3 days of receipt - buyer pays return shipping and books must be returned in same condition they were sent. Thanks for looking and please ask any questions you have and offers are welcome via PM. My feedback thread is here: Mister Mystery 4 CGC 4.5 OWW SOLD
  2. That's about what I was thinking. Maybe 5.0 on a good day at CGC. Not sure if it's worth slabbing but those last few Spirit issue seemed to have been jumping in price.
  3. PGM Spirit #20 So this one has a couple splashes of white out (?) on the cover. Otherwise, very nice looking book. Couple tears along the edge of the front cover - and what looks like a chip is actually folded back and I don't believe there's any missing paper. Chip out of the top of the spine - seen on back cover. Pages are supple and CR/OW. What do people think - how much do the white splashes bring it down? Thanks in advance.
  4. Well, I picked up the Astonishings 3, 4, 5. I had them pegged at $2k, $3k, $1K...and they went for $2300, $4100, and $1100. I knew the 4 would be tough and someone else definitely wanted it. Apologies to whomever that was. I am SO happy to have it and the others.
  5. Ok - thanks. Looking closer there's a small piece of the back cover underneath the staple so I presume it's the last page. Everything is tight and secure. Guess I can start hunting for a cover!
  6. Brenda Starr #14 coverless - page count? Grand comics database isn't giving me anything on this book. I've got 16 wraps (32 pages)...is that complete? Seems thin. Thanks for any help.
  7. So grade goes from what to what? Basically, how much of a downgrade for the staining.
  8. Spirit 21 - paint? Hi all - any input is appreciated. You can see the 2 streaks of paint/whiteout/I don't know what on the front cover. Would that be considered restoration? How would it affect grade? Thanks.
  9. PGM Dagar, Desert Hawk #23 Hi all - just picked up off the bay. Biggest issue is chip on top of spine - visible on BC scan. Also a similar smaller chip on bottom of spine. Little nick on top right edge of FC. Everything else is apparent. Thanks.
  10. Another price drop. Feel free to make me an offer if you're interested. Thanks.
  11. Spirit #22 Book needs little introduction. Last GPA shows a 4.0 went for $2250 in January. A 4.5 from the other guys just went for $2868 at HA which means $3k with tax/shipping, etc. $2650 USPS Priority shipped in the US. International at cost. No returns on CGC graded books. PayPal payment. Let me know if you have any questions.
  12. My only pickup from HA. Put in my max bid on Friday and checked back yesterday and saw I'd been bid up a good bit, but max was still enough to get the win. I love this book and I love the pedigree so am quite satisfied with this purchase.
  13. These little ladies all showed up today....so that's nice.
  14. So excited about this recent pickup. Tape on spine and low grade but man does it present well.
  15. I don't trust myself during the live auction. If it's a book I know I want, I put in my top bid from about day 1 and then I'm done. There are plenty of people who participate live at the end of the auction so I'm under no illusions that a book will slip through at a relative deal. It's a gamble to wait around and hope for that scenario, but I've seen way too many people get crazy bidding live and I don't want to get caught up in that and spend more than I think a book is worth. I've definitely done that. I suppose I'm just not a very disciplined bidder.
  16. I'm thinking around $2200-$2400 but could go higher. It's right on the cusp of "high grade" for that book. Just TOUGH above 5.0.
  17. Well this thread needs a bump. Anyone see the River City JIM 16 7.5 that went for $8k on CC? Love that cover but man wasn't thinking it would go that high. It was at $1200 this morning.
  18. Lord knows Harveys are overdue for some love but the recent Chamber of Chills 23 price increases are amazing. I bought mine raw from CC a couple years ago (advertised as 7.5, CGC 6.5 officially) for $180 with very little interest from other bidders. A 7.0 graded by the other guys just sold on Heritage for $3346. It's a sharp looking copy to be sure - but wow - COC 23 is officially priced in the land of the ultra classic pre code covers now.
  19. Tomb of Terror #15 CGC 2.5 went for $646 (10 months ago a 5.0 went for $676.) Strange Tales #28 CGC 4.0 went for $1380 (9 months ago a 4.0 went for $700) Fight Against Crime #20 CGC 3.5 went for $1804 (not a lot of comparable data but a 5.0 sold more than 2 years ago for $1934) Classic covers seem to be doing very well.
  20. I've gotten some interest but no deals have been made. Feel free to make an offer if you're interested. And I know you are...
