I applaud you for bringing forward a novel idea for a potential improvement of the registry, unfortunately this one just isn't a winner. And at this point, I feel like you're whistling in the wind a bit here. Seldom have I seen an idea posted on the boards that received not a single vote of support from any other boardies. But you seem firmly entrenched in your opinion (which is fair enough). I just hope majority rules in this case, because I believe the majority are right in this instance, for all of the reasons stated by all of the other posters above.

Thought she was good in House of the Dragon. She honestly wouldn't have come to mind for me, but I'm interested to see how she makes out with the role. Cautiously optimistic.

It's a shame to hear the recent (but unsurprising) news about Vince McMahon. For me, WrestleMania VI was the peak of professional wrestling. How could they ever top the first Heavyweight Champion vs. Intercontinental Champion match in WrestleMania history?! Though I may be biased as a once rabid Hulkamaniac who was 7 years old and in attendance at Skydome with my Dad for the match!

Bought a book via best offer from Metropolis Comics a couple of years back. Had to get my offer pretty darn close to asking to illicit a response. Did not find them to be overly responsive even after I made the purchase - nothing egregious, just not nearly as easy to deal with as other vendors I've used frequently (Reece, Dale Roberts, CL, MCS, etc.). Shipping did take longer than I would have liked, but wasn't an eternity. My experience was that Metropolis was just a decent, middle of the road purveyor of comics. Nothing great, nothing horrible.

I have found that my eBay buyers will pay more for a book in a newer CGC case or an original CGC case, as opposed to the same book in the previous generation slab. Are you suggesting CGC should award extra points for books in new or original cases? Case reopened.

For the numerical grade, there are objective criteria one can point to for how the subjective grade was decided upon. In the case of page quality, it's more akin to: "Looks white to me." It is, by it's nature, less transparent and more subjective. Keep page quality out of it. My .

I was bidding on a slabbed Strange Adventures #217 9.4 (O/W) last night in the HA auction, and put in a bid that I thought was WAY above what the final hammer would be. The book ended up going for $1080 after the BP. Now, I will grant that it's a Neal Adams cover, and that there aren't many in the census (34 universal), and that the black cover makes the book exceedingly difficult to find in higher grades period (only 3 graded 9.6, good luck finding raws in decent shape) - but I was flabbergasted. A 9.2 went for $86 in 2022, and a 9.0 went for $80 earlier this year. I see that, and think: "Huh, prices definitely aren't falling." But then a slabbed Green Lantern #87 9.2 (OW/W) went for $575 - almost half of recent sales and FMV. I don't know what to make of prices anymore. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. EDIT: Just won a number of books on CLink for about half of my maximum bids. Yay I guess.

Anyone who has the time/inclination (it takes like 5 seconds) might consider clicking the "Report Item" link in the listing, reporting the item as possibly fraudulent, and providing a link to this forum thread. The more people who do, the more likely eBay is to investigate the account. It might make it more difficult to list stolen books, if that's in fact what is happening. If not, there's a response mechanism through which the seller can provide provenance for the item he is selling. EDIT: To anyone having difficulty navigating the menu options when reporting an eBay item as potentially fraudulent as a private citizen, see the photo below for the drop down options you should choose. Also, in the comments field, you can write something to the effect of: "User appears to be selling stolen items. See following thread for details: URL".

To all those affected: 1) Collect all the information about the books you submitted to Hero Restoration, including photos of the books, receipts for the books, etc. 2) Collect all written correspondence between yourself and Hero Restoration, including any documentation regarding your submission of the books (ex: shipment tracking numbers), Mike's receipt of the books (ex: acknowledgment emails), any invoices for the service Mike was to render, etc. 3) Collect any cheques, credit card statements, PayPal statements or the like showing any funds you may have transferred to Mike for his services. 4) Collect any evidence you have found regarding the disposition of your books (ex: screenshots of an eBay auction where your book was sold without your consent). 5) Type a brief written statement outlining what happened, and referencing the above noted materials in support of your claims. Be sure to reference the value of the books, and the total of any funds paid to Hero Restoration. 6) Contact the police of local jurisdiction where Hero Restoration is based, and lodge a criminal complaint. Obtain a file number, and the name of the assigned investigator. Advise the police there will likely be other complainants coming forward in the future. Let the police sort out any jurisdictional issues on their own - that's their job. 7) Post the police file number, and the name and contact information for the assigned investigator in this thread, so that other victims can reach out to police (rather than a random boardie), and police can begin collating all the evidence of Mike's alleged wrong doing. 8) Don't engage with Mike to try to secure the return of your books. It appears that he's unlikely to return them, and the books may be gone anyways. Police are also apt to write the whole thing off as a civil matter between two consenting parties if you engage in talks about the return of books and/or funds, even if Mike never follows through on returning the books and/or funds (police will point you to civil courts for recourse if you go this route). 9) I wouldn't throw good money after bad pursuing a civil action against Mike. It sounds like Mike is likely already known to police, and the story regarding drug use/selling books rings true to me. Trying to get money out of him will be like trying to get blood from a stone. Best to hold him criminally accountable first, and pursue a civil remedy down the road if you later deem it warranted. 10) Keep on the police. This is a more in depth investigation than they may be accustomed to, and will likely require them to obtain subpoenas (ex: for bank and eBay records) and search warrants (ex: to seek out any books still in Mike's possession), but is eminently solvable. The more people who make complaints and follow up on those complaints, the better the chance is of a favorable outcome. My .

Seems to me like Rybolovlev obtained his wealth through timing, daring, and ruthlessness - not wits. Bouvier is definitely shady, but seemingly exemplifies all of the qualities Rybolovlev utilized to obtain his fortune...plus those wits Rybolovlev is lacking. I don't feel in the least bit sorry for either of them. They're both pure profiteers. "A fool (or in this case fools) and his money are soon parted" and all that. I second the earlier recommendation of the documentary "The Lost Leonardo". Riveting stuff, with some not so subtle (though clearly more lucrative) similarities to the comic collecting world!
