Thank you for this thread. I am still lost on what to do with my DC 100 pagers. Looks like I have to get a bigger comic box or just keep them in the magazine box for now.

Your other option is to use a silver/gold bag and use a standard board (or trim the s/g board), then fold over the side overhang of the bag and tape that down. Perhaps also trim the top flap.

In SD Steve B. took Connor(CapFreak) under his wing, and as I understood it hooked him up with a hotel, passes etc.. Very nice thing to do...giving a kid a second chance because we all make mistakes.

 

Long Story short, Conner somehow got Steve's cell phone and left a less then desirable message on Steve outgoing voice mail. Why I do not know, but I do know it cost Steve dearly in terms of cleaning up the mess.

 

Connors parents were contacted and they pretty much did nothing.

 

If any of this is incorrect Conner please feel free to set me straight, otherwise take a hike.

 

Isn't this something Steve or Cap should be revealing vs. hearing it second hand on a public forum? Not trying to defend his actions, if true, but this doesn't seem to be one of those issues that should be exposed by anyone other than the original parties on a message board...

I agree Jim but if this is true is pretty darn pathetic. My parents would have whooped my arse.

 

I would normally agree with you but in this instance I knew Steve was not going to out Connor here(ask him yourself if you want to know why) but agreed people should be made aware that the kid has lost his way. Steve told enough people about what happened to get the word out, I just felt it needed to be heard here because there are many board members who do not read every thread or are not privy to every conversation and have no idea of the past or present history Connor is quickly accumulating.

 

And as I said in my post, Connor can feel free to come here and set me straight and tell his side. I wish he would actually because I am flabbergasted as to what could have possibly been going through his mind at the time to think that prank was anything but malicious and extremely damaging to Steve.

From what Steve told us, this doesn't cover all of Connor's bad behavior in SD. Unless one thinks it's OK to try to kick the host out of his own hotel room.

So, according to a post in the Mixed Age section, the mods have given the approval for sale of Playboys. 2 problems with this: 1) Since when do they allow non-comic related sales? I guess now it's doesn't have to be comic related, just CGC related. and 2) Does this mean they should create a non-comic subforum or an adult sub-forum?

That second point is something a few of us were PMing each other about today if Playboys are going to be sold on the forum regularly.

 

There is the chance for the need to create an ADULTS ONLY section, with a disclaimer that if you are making purchases in that thread, you are validating legal age to do so.

 

I can see this getting tricky since someone was already caught lying about their age to stay on the board.

This notional subforum would also probably be the more appropriate place for selling risque and underground comics.

While I'm in here, I move that Chi Bamm be removed from any mention on the list.

If he was put on it because he was called to duty in Iraq, I care nothing about associating with anyone that insists the very mention of his name in this thread. That's probably the saddest thing I've ever heard of in my life.

The person who placed him on the list didn't know why he wasn't responding to PMs.

Once informed he and everyone agreed to remove him.

 

I believe Dice is saying his name being adding to the list was a accident and his name should not ever have been or ever be there.

I was the person at the time who wanted him on the list before I found out he was called to duty and was unable to respond to PMs and send the book. I haven't been around much and am trying to catch up around here and saw this. I agree to permanently removing Chi from the list, He shouldn't have been put on there after the facts were laid out. I felt bad then and when I see it, I feel bad now. If I had known at the time he was called to duty and unable to respond I would have never asked for him to be put on the list.

 

It is noted that he was called for active duty. Just to play devil's advocate, what happens if the same scenerio repeats itself, at least someone will know that it is possible he was called again to duty.

 

If we keep picking and choosing who should stay on a history list, it makes the entire process invalid. I admit that one name was removed because to mark a personal notation of its kind would be cruel. But if someone falters and is put on the probation list, they should be added to the history list once removed. Again, these are only my opinions.

First let me just state I have not bought anything from Comicseekers and will let the rest you of decide the appropriate course of action for him.

 

However, I did want to state one thing in regards of the first person who cried "Foul Play". The poster "Poe"

 

Two years ago, when I first joined this message board, everyone welcomed us with open arms and we have a pretty good relationship with most board members here. I think I have met at least 100 boardie's in the past year and a half and have gotten along with everyone we have met.

 

Anyhow, when we first joined, i received a PM from Poe stating how our website is a mess. (This was due to us updating our website and other stuff). It said on our website to please call our store (toll-free mind you) if you had any trouble and we would take care of you over the phone. Apparently that was too much for him to do.

 

My point is this: We treat everyone and try to help everyone the best we can. He didnt even want to give us a chance. Apparently, from what I read in the other threads, comicseekers was trying to do the same with him but Poe but gave away or threw out the comics that needed to be returned.

 

I am not taking sides as I know a lot of you are dealing with comicseekers and have your own situations to deal with. I am not one to say if he is right or wrong either, ill let the people who are in dispute answer that question ultimately. All I know is when i saw the first complaint from "Poe", red flags were immediately raised in my head.

Media mail can be opened any time during its travel. Anything with advertisement is not valid for media mail. DC Dollar comics are fine as they have no ads.
