I can't believe the amount of great books here. It used to be there would be about 100-200 new posts in a day....now I get from work and there are 300 new posts. This place has become come to attract a lot of traffic.

 

I concur! You deserve a lot of credit as well for offering up some really nice books.

Well, 2009 starts off with a bang. Just picked this one up an hour ago. Interesting side note to this copy, it's the one pictured in the Gerber guides.

 

Did you ever actually talk to Batfan (gilberto) or just received the funds through PP?

No contact whatsoever. I know of someone that tried to contact him through his myspace page with no results, and this was just a few days ago while Gilberto was online. I was willing to give him a little leeway at first but it just appears now that he took everyone's comics/money.

Kudos to spiderman-on-tilt for very fastly shipped and well packaged X-Men slab.

Well his story has certainly changed. His posts indicate he inherited the comics. His Ebay auction states it is his long time collection.

Check out this auction. X-MEN 3 I think he may have upgraded or something. One odd thing of note look at the shape of the spine crease at Cyclop's foot at the spine. Its the same shape however other flaws are not present on the "copy" here on the boards.

So matt68 stated in the grade my X-Men 1 thread that he recently sold an All Select 2 on ebay. Turns out, a copy of that was recently sold by goromaki68 of oak lawn, IL. Interestingly enough, goromaki68 had recently bought quite a few comic books.

Many kudos to AtlasFan and Count for multiple shipments of many books. Great packaging and fast shipping put them high on my list of sellers.

I had hoped I would never have to post here, but sadly I must.

 

I nominate boechler be added to the Probation List, justification as follows:

 

Agreement to buy books from him July 6, and payment was mailed to him the next day. First inquiry about the status of books made towards end of July, with response of having been too busy. Inquiry #2 made near end of August, with response being he wrote the wrong address and the post office screwed up by never informing him the package was returned to the post office. Inquiry #3 made over a week ago, PM has not been read.

 

I think that's been long enough.

 

Interesting. I purchased a FF48 VG/FN from him and sent it back to him because of some undisclosed stained pages. It took him two months to send me my refund. He has a long list of excuses, uh, I mean reasons: so busy, away from home, wife is on crutches... Also, he does not accept Paypal which should have tipped me off. At least I got my money back.

Sorry to hear of your guys trouble with him. I sent him a couple of hundred bucks for a raw book and everything turned out fine. (lucky me I guess)

I think he might know Skinny-White-Boy shoot him a PM and maybe skinny will break some legs.

I PM'd someone else who knew boechler - he said he hadn't seen him in quite a while. The PM I sent to boechler a month ago still hasn't been read. Don't know whether he's still alive ...

The books I ordered from boechler arrived today.

It turned out that he had (mistakenly) thought that he had completed the deal. He hadn't logged on here since August and so was unaware that I hadn't received them. The two and a half week shipping time via CanadaPost-USPS added to the delay. The matter is now closed.

Thanks boechler for restoring my faith.

To Gilbert's defense, I bought an AF15 from him over the summer, right before San Diego, and he delivered on time, as requested. I'm hoping that there isn't something sinister and that we hold hope for our fellow man...er teenager.

As of now I'm still holding out that there's a good reason as to why we havent heard from him yet and will hopefully get our comics soon.

I don't know what to think.

My check cleared October 9th for Conan #1. I have posted another PM and am leaving the opportunity open for Gilberto to respond with the tracking number he promised twice. It is still remotely possible that if he did not use the shipping he promised, the package could be creeping along out there somewhere without a tracking number. I felt it was important to follow up on genrlzod's post in case there is a pattern. Hopefully nothing bad has happened to Gilberto keeping him from responding. However, I see posts in other threads Oct 28th and earlier for gilbertotorres. Right now, the situation looks pretty grim--but there's still hope the book will arrive. If it does, I will certainly post absolutely as soon as possible.

 

If the book doesn't arrive--well, let's wait and see a bit longer.

During the VCC in September I purchased Wolverine issues 1 - 4 (mini) from gilbertotorres. I sent my MO out on Sept. 16th. On Oct. 22nd I inquired about the books and was told that they were over looked and that they would be sent out right away. As of today, Nov. 4th I still do not have these books. My last 2 PMs have gone unanswered. As of this moment I am out $57.00 and feel that I will never see either the money or the books.

He's slow to ship but keep reminding him. He hasn't posted here or at another board he frequently posts in for a week now, so it may be that he's been unable to take care of your orders for some reason or another.
