  1. I only collect Marvel Two-In-One. I've been waiting for issue 101 since 1983.
  2. They are completely different pedigrees not associate with each other.
  3. Those of you who live in Southern California probably know Frank and Son in the City of Industry. In a nutshell it's a convention every weekend held in a former Sam's Club and is currently dominated these days by card collectors. I went there three times during the pandemic when there were restrictions were 10% of the building occupancy. The first time I went it was closed. The other two times I went there was a line that stretched for about about and hour or two and people were patiently waiting to get in - I wasn't one of them. When occupancy restrictions were softened and I was fully vaccinated I went back and there was no line - I zipped right in. Everyone is excited to experience conventions - for a fan it'll be easier than for a dealer who may not be able to have more than one location (Harley Yee comes to mind). Frank and Son's has about a half dozen decent comic dealers which is not too bad for a single place but I am utterly astounded at the amount of sport, pokemon and MTG stands that have now popped up.
  4. Here's an exhaustive list: Every DC cover from 1946 through 1970 Every Rob Liefeld cover 95% of McFarlane covers
  5. Apparently, it also has a forward by Stan Lee. Dang, this guy got around everywhere!
  6. I haven't a clue, but I would venture to believe that it's due to scarcity since it's an obscure publisher (Bubblehead Publishing) for the TPB and for the comic (Innovation). GCD states, "This book reprints the six issues that were done for Innovation, but then completes the story that Innovation was unable to finish. The book is copyright 2005; Amazon lists it as coming out on 2005-12-28 but it shipped to the direct market on 2006-03-29." You can get your copy from Amazon for a mere $1,449.98. https://www.amazon.com/Lost-Space-Voyage-Bottom-Soul/dp/0976543605/ref=sr_1_1?crid=33NV5B4N1YV3X&dchild=1&keywords=lost+in+space+voyage+to+the+bottom+of+the+soul&qid=1622610592&sprefix=lost+in+space+voya%2Caps%2C218&sr=8-1
  7. Not an all inclusive list by any means, but just some that I had been tracking. X-Men 137 9.8 - it seemed to have plateaued at ~$600 but there was a sale for $1,000 at the end of last week. Too early to be a trend, but might be an indicator of things to come. ASM 300 9.6 - that one seems to have softened a bit over the last few sales. Eternal 1 CGC 9.4 - although there's been sporadic peaks and valleys, it seems to have stabilized around $600. Bottom line, it looks like the answer is...it depends. I think that there are many comics whose values have been established and will hover in a fixed zone while there are still a few comics that still have not reached their perceived market value.
  8. I may have spoken too soon. I saw a bump over the weekend again. Still upward trajectory for most main titles.
  9. A rare Nick appearance.
  10. From the books I follow, it looks like many of them are starting to plateau and the prices stabilize. I think this is the new baseline going forward.
  11. From a collector's perspective, if you don't collect ASM and do collect FF, then it's a fair trade. From a value perspective, keep the ASM - it has a higher momentum (with the last sale in that grade at $3,600 versus $3,100 on the FF).
  12. Since my office is my comic room, I stroll over to the spinner and enjoy a comic just like when I was a kid with the exception of the cranky clerk yelling at me for reading the comics. My Spidey slabs are in boxes by my desk so it's great during conference calls.
  13. Is that a huge shard of debris on Nick's face? Another example for the QA thread. Otherwise, a fantastic pickup.
  14. I think you're a cat. Your kidneys are easy to remove.
  15. This one takes the prize. There is a factor to consider, though - there's a couple of factors for the signature placement - either Stan got a comic and he chose where to sign, or, as it may be in many cases, the signature window actually determines the signature location.
  16. Let's take a trip down memory lane. Just keys words: Shaken Comic Syndrome (SCS) Hair (AKA Pubes) Puddling (yeah, right, nothing to see here) Debris Swapped labels Universal custom labels on restored books I know volume brings much of this to light but it almost looks like there's no improvement strategy. It's "Excellence Through Defect" instead of defect prevention. When there are systemic quality issues in real industries, there's a plan, a champion and clear execution (training, inspection, etc.)
  17. Let's not forget this monstrosity... good signature placement, bad attempt at a spider.
  18. Let me remind you that Star Wars occurred "a long time ago" and isn't in the current timeline. Sheesh, how nerdy is that statement.
