  1. Another recent addition. When Colan is on his game, he's superb.
  2. I suppose that technically, one of these should probably be displayed in the Bronze forum, but what the heck. I'm a Silver guy all the way, so here they are. My two latest additions (this week), from Pedigree. I'm really pleased with the cover alignment on both. I just wish the Pedigree's scans were better. They make them look kinda dingy and soft around the edges.
  3. No Paypal accepted, anyone here dealt with the guy? Nope, and the price has gone past my comfort zone anyway. He has a good feedback rating, though.
  4. Thanks, Bill and Jeff! I saw those two Ebay listings and I'm keeping an eye on the 7.0. The BIN on that 6.5 is pretty steep for a C/OW copy, especially when it's in the same price range as Bob's copy... and Bob's copy is already pricey for a 6.0. I'd seen the listing for Bob's copy, and it looks really sharp. The edges and corners are some of the best I've seen on an Avengers #1. There's some creasing down the left side, but is that the only reason it got a 6.0? Hmmm. (Think I'll call CGC and get the graders' notes on this one.)
  5. I'm thinking 6.0-7.0 too. I've been looking around, and a decent 6.0 sold on Ebay for $1K recently. If I put a hold on my lower value purchases for a month or two, I could swing $1 to 1.5K... Maybe it'll happen this summer...
  6. Fantastic!! Good luck with CGC I keep looking for a #1 in a grade I can afford, but haven't found one yet. Hoping it isn't another 30 years for ME...
  7. OMFG! Those are fantastic. The 19 is excellent, but that #40 is really sweet. Cover alignment is superb, and the top corners could poke your eye out. Wish I could see the bottom edge... Cheetah - let's talk. I'm happy to keep off your toes. PM me. Andrew
  8. Pedigree. Also picked up a #119 in 9.6 W, which I posted in the Bronze forum. (thumbs u
  9. I paid $7 more than you, and I got OW pages.
  10. Nice one! And better PQ than my #30. Funny that we both picked up #30s on Ebay within a week or so of each other.
  11. This thread needed a so here it it: Rare 1956 Avengers issue Check out this rare Avengers from 1956. The grading note is classic: "THIS COMIC IS IN MINT CONDITION BUT MY MINT MAY BE DIFFERENT THAN YOURS"
  12. And one more... just won this one, literally seconds ago. It's a Blazing Bob book.
  13. Here's my most recent addition. It's an upgrade from a slightly lower grade copy. The cover alignment with the spine isn't great, but at least it's straight! And I like the white pages. Sorry the bottom is cut off. It isn't my scan.
  14. I wondered who pulled the trigger on that one. Beeee-ooo-tee-ful, and reasonably priced, relatively speaking. WAY out of my league, though! I can only dream and drool.
  15. Where are you picking up HG raw books like that?? Wish I had a source for HG raw. Perhaps I just don't get out enough.
  16. And what a way to bump it! BEAUTIFUL book!
  17. That's a sweet #4. Have you considered slabbing it?
  18. Did you have it slabbed yourself? Nope. Bought it that way.
  19. Lovely #11. (thumbs u I love looking at the scans of unslabbed books, without a layer of plastic hiding all their glorious detail. I just received my #11 - slabbed -- CGC 9.0. I'll see if I have time to do a scan next week and post it here.
  20. Here are a couple of purchase from the past few days. Both from CL. The #59 Pacific Coast was from the auction that ended a couple days ago, and the #63 was from the "For Sale" section. Anyone know the previous owner of the Pacific Coast copy? I see it on GPA - it sold last year for $300, but I won it for less than that.
  21. Mmmmmmm... white pages. I want that book! Badly. There are three Avengers issues I'm jonesing for in 9.0+ with OW/W or W pages: #11, #25 and of course #57.
  22. Time for a few pics of some recent additions. The first is an Ebay win from Wes Hagen (haven't received it yet; this is Wes's scan) Followed by a board purchase from Scott (wrightson fan):
  23. Here's my #93. Picked it up in Ebay a few months back. The scan created some odd reflections in the lower half (Cap's arm, Vision, Scarlet Witch) but they're NOT on the book. No black streak, and pretty good alignment with the wrap. A little crooked (see the top MCG band), but good enough for me!
