  1. 08 09 was the best year record sales ever at that point for comic dealers and shops.
  2. I hope you are wrong. I think to get under 4k would take war, a virus, a solar flare, or something drastic. Until 2021 the book went up because of sustainable reasons. Worst case all of the new money bails and real collectors and amateur speculators come in at their price point. I don't believe that price point will be under 6k. Doubt it will be under 8.
  3. Fewer workers. More people buying online. More people collecting comics. Higher fuel cost. Higher shipping cost. Possible inflation. Probably more reasons. I say get the 9.99 while you can.
  4. I don't know anything about it. I haven't seen anything about flash in the last 5 years or more until i clicked on that link.
  5. Sounds like a better bag. I have received mylar slab bags for 5 years at least. Either no seal or glue strip. I find they always seem to tear or blow out the corners. I hate to spend money on supplies so whatever they come in. Some sellers are stingy with their bags so when I sell a voldy or old cgc slab sorry no bag. Need them for the newer cgc cases. I steal the the bags from drek to give to better comics. Mylar looks great but I can still buy some pretty good books for $10 $20 $50.
  6. Most or all green labels I seen tell you the reason for the green label. I'd rather buy a green label so I know the grade of the book vs trying to guess how much of a deduction is from the writing and how much from damage.
  7. Auction wins that the books are in house no problem. If you buy a consignment book buy it now and you are happy with the price then just be prepared to wait for your money. When a book goes up the books owner will usually want to sell it for the new price. The old I have no idea where I placed my $50,000 book.
  8. I just did and it was slow to load and wanted me to install flash. That was the end of me using it. I pretty much have everything memorized or can make a close enough guess. Current asking prices and past sold results are free if I would want to research. Any site I tested that has a trending price or guide price I never found one to be accurate. Check it out. If they don't give you a free trial to try it out then ......
  9. Anybody still making videos talking about low census numbers and how undervalued comic books are?
  10. Do whatever you want. If they weren't doing anything for me I would sell them. Can always buy anything back that you want. I think comics will increase but not as much as other investments. No dc, well lots of good dc. Lots of good modern marvel art and stories. Times that by mutiples for other publishers. Golden age collecting is fun. Art collecting even better. Write your own comic. Get into flipping. Some of the books you own you could have sold at peak highs and bought back for almost half price. Or just get new hobbies.
  11. My guess is because they fetch the highest resale value, not sure how much good factors in. From my understanding, if and or when you get in contact with someone they will attempt to make things right. No guarantee and it could take awhile. But shipping and slabbing shouldn't cost you anything.
  12. There never was any competition. Could have been but the competition didn't try to compete. Unless charging people to put a comic in a mylar bag was their idea of trying to compete. Even so if you someone off bad enough they aren't coming back. They will stop slabbing books or go to the so called competition.
  13. Customer service 101. When you mess up you take care of that customer first. Your books should have been back to you fixed or compensated in weeks. Unless there are so many mess ups they are jammed up months just with those.
  14. If you do a search you will find all sorts of forums on this topic. Basically every insurance company is excellent at taking your payments and like 1 out of every 1000 people have actually made a claim attempt. The one mentioned above is well known and popular. I have heard they pay out but once they do you will need to find another insurer. What and how much you insure is up to you. Sold history. Other than that I have no idea. Never had collectible insurance. An amateur isn't cracking or hauling off my safe. A professional isn't breaking in without knowing what I have and I protect that information. Even then they would have to be KGB or something to get past my alarm without me knowing. Waterproof safe in non flood zone. Close enough to fire department that it will be put out in time. Most people pay more to the insurance company than they receive in claim payouts. Not suggesting that you don't get insurance. I just know a lot of people who don't have it because of the cost risk for their situation.
  15. I buy comics not plastic. Money spent on plastic could be spent on paper. And I am not sure I could trust it coming back fixed. If I buy a cracked or scuffed slab it stays that way. But if having that paper folded down is better than having $20 or whatever it cost then go for it.
  16. We will find out this spring. I never noticed nov dec being slow but I have some things I haven't gotten around to selling so going to put them up on ebay and see what happens. I know week before xmas has been dead in past. Week after good for small stuff, figure people got gift cards or cash. Some of the best deals I have ever gotten have been in Jan Feb. Then income tax money comes, cons get rolling and good until a summer slow down with vacation and kids home. Ebay sells more bigger books than you think. They might not be sold on there but they are sold on there if you catch my drift. CL sales continue to fall every auction. I probably wouldn't have noticed if not for the boardie chart. Spring 2021 highs weren't sustainable. Keys aren't low enough for me to buy. I am just going to sit back and watch. I want to see if there is a Dec rush to unload things by ebay sellers who aren't returning in 2022.
  17. Looks like the oxidation of iron. Kudos for still rocking the Motorola razor.
  18. Only if they are non acidic stickers that won't compromise the mylar.
  19. I think they are strong. If you want gpa average or better you need collectors. To have dealers or flippers to pay 20% under is impressive. Some of these books you have listed have 5 or 10 copies. Not sure any site other than maybe ebay has enough pure collector traffic to fetch top dollar.
  20. Excellent work. Thank you for your service. The amazing spider man 2 4.0 sold for $2,750. I have never struck my kid but if he let that book sell for $750 I really don't know how I would react lol.
  21. You could buy a page or cover. Have someone do a piece for you. I had artists do larger than normal pieces for just what you suggested. I would much rather have a one of kind piece. Tell your visitors this is awesome and nobody has this but me.
  22. Buy whatever you think you will like. Once you get it and if you don't like it you can sell it and break even or even a profit if you do it right. If you are buying for financial gains then good luck. I buy anything I can make a profit on or anything that I like or think I will like or want to give a try.
  23. Prices are down but they should be. The market was artificially inflated. New money came in, they spent that money, so now they have all their money stuck in comics that stopped rising. The music stopped and they are left without a chair. They took loses on just about everything they bought so even they aren't going to keep throwing money into comics. Demand is still there. I find sales just fine. I look at a lot of books each day and will buy anything if it's undervalue enough. I haven't bought anything this month. Usually get at least 5 things a week. My sales are weak. One account I only have maybe 20 books listed, all keys but not hot keys. I sold 3 this month for top dollar. Other account I have 100 drek listed. Lowest price on the internet that I can find and I made my first sale this weekend in 2 weeks. No surprise. I am trying to sell books that nobody wants. Just random issues with awful covers and many not elite grade. They sit waiting for that one person. If you want to see steady sales you better have hot books or at least popular books that are high grade and they need to be priced right. If you are selling random issues that aren't popular and not elite grade then you need to have 500 or 1000 of them listed if you want steady sales.
