  1. Seems pretty clear Solomon Grundy is-a-coming
  2. Yep, right in the beginning Barry Diggle sees something printed about him. I have to watch it again and try to see what it was. Maybe an appearance is in the cards . . . found this: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1718934/arrow-everything-missed-on-three-ghosts.jhtml Born on a Monday Upon breaking into Cyrus Gold's apartment, Diggle finds a book about Solomon Grundy. As those of you hardcore DC comic fans know, Cyrus Gold is the name of the gangster who eventually is transformed into Solomon Grundy. Now that Gold has been defeated and has had acid poured all over his face, could he be returning to life as the zombie supervillain from DC comic book lore?
  3. Hey Steve - welcome aboard! Just wait till you get to season 2! This site had some interesting did-bits: http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/12/arrow-fall-finale-post-mortem-felicity-and-oliver-roys-transformation-and-slades-revenge.html Including this about Roy's path: "Roy Harper ended the fall of Season 2 full of mirakuru and justifiably confused about what just went down. Does the injection mean that Roy is doomed to a life of evil? Not if Oliver has anything to say about it. "Oliver basically makes it his mission not to let Roy go down the Slade path," Kreisberg explained." and this about Slade: Audiences don't yet know exactly what turned Oliver and Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett) from great friends to mortal enemies. But that is coming. "He blames Oliver for what happens [to Shado]," said Kreisberg. "And what's interesting for our character is Oliver blames himself too."
  4. The difference is one sucked eggs, one didn't, and you know which is which. It's too bad, because I had a lot of hope GL would be good - but alas, it was not. ... but it doesn't mean they should abandon that character either. Try and try again I say
  5. Hopefully you have CW on-demand there. Perfect time to catch-up o'er the holidays.
  6. i actually don't have much faith it could - I mean skin-tight doesn't seem to work that well, and young Barry doesn't seem like he'd fill it out all that well. To be honest with you, this is the one thing I fear the most. The suit could be the killer if it's awful. Maybe he won't have one for a while, which i think might be safest. I agree. Just have him wearing a red top and trousers combo. (thumbs u and call himself what, the blur

  8. Totally agree! Best TV in a long time. I like the show - but best TV in a long time? Er, no. Ok, how about best TV for a Flash-loving DC junkie who's waited a long time for this? Best TV for that guy I mean. Yes, I concur. Are you looking forward to the Flash TV show? Yes of course I am, but I also realize making it into a good TV show is as hard as catching lightning in a bottle. I don't envy them, they hard quite a job ahead and very unforgiving fans to try to satisfy. In the articles where it was first announced, the creators seem to really love the character (Flash) and relish the challenge. So we'll see.

  10. Last nights show - wow . . . The sequence where Barry Allen is struck by lightning in the chemistry lab was so cool. I especially loved how they showed the chemicals rising out of the beakers to combine into the electrically-charged chemo-cocktail that would bathe our hero and endow him with super-speed. Linking it to the collider just adds that much more for them to weave the origin into this universe they seem to be building.
  11. Did anyone catch the dramatic reenactment of the sequence of events leading to the origin of The Flash on the show Arrow last night. I got freakin' goosebumps and almost cracked out my copy to hug and read. If this doesn't effect the interest and likely value of this book then I am a monkey's uncle. I just hope they continue to deliver the goods when Flash gets his own show. Very cool . . .
  12. pretty weak 8.0 I was thinking the same thing too. I don't like the centering as much as I wanted to. Too many tick marks on spine to warrant an 8.0. Seen better looking 7.0/7.5 copies ...and call me crazy but I would like to see a back cover scan without having to ask for it at anything near this price point. -J. Worst thing about Clink. Scroll all the way down in the auction though True, there is a back cover scan. I suppose if I spent that kind of dough on a comic, never have, I'd be as particular as the rest of you. Sharp eyes here definitely. I still wouldn't kick it out'a bed
  13. pretty weak 8.0 What see you, comic sage Maybe I had the rose-colored glasses on when I looked at the 8.0 I'm not a buyer, so I can afford to over look the faults . . .
  14. Yes that's kind of odd but I think it will top $30K easy. -J. That much better presenting than the last 2 8.0s? Doesn't have the nice PQ the last 2 did. True. But 8.0's aren't exactly falling out of the trees and a CR/OW book can easily come back an OW book or better on a resub if it really bothered someone that much. Me personally, I give PQ the least amount of weight on a label, so long as the pages aren't brittle or noticeably Tan on the edges. -J. Oh I agree they aren't common and PQ is the least important, but 2 have been reported to GPA this year with the last one back in october for just over 29,000 and then a 7.5 in nov for 26,000. Wasn't there an 8.0 on CC that sold for $30K+ recently? Or was that an 8.5? Yes Barry did just make his debut on Arrow. Good times. -J. There was a Showcase #4 CGC 8.0 that sold on CC for 29K & change. I was on the prowl for that one, but decided to go with an IH #1 CGC 8.0 White Mtn pedigree copy instead! That Hulk 1 was a sweet pick up, good job on that one. After hearing those GPA results, I am inclined to agree with you guys now, it will probably go a smidge under $30K. But it only takes two squirrels fighting over the same nut to push it past that. We shall see.... -J. Well looks like there is already a bunch of movement on it (which is always a good sign for the seller). I still don't get why they wouldn't start it where they are happy selling it and not set the reserve, as that always scares off a number of bidders. Hopefully not that many with a book like this. Maybe over the holidays will catch up to be current...fill the void of nothing on TV. The only time a reserve makes sense to me, is if a buyer is unsure of the interest and how strong the bidding will be on an item - and they can adjust the reserve downward if the interest is light - but eBay makes it so cost-prohibitive to list with a reserve (especially if the item doesn't sell) that I think it has caused folks to shy away from listing with a reserve. I don't know, that's my theory. Otherwise I really can't see why people avoid bidding on reserve auctions - I mean you CAN always ask the seller what the reserve is - many times I have and they were pleased to provide me with this information. It always seems when the starting price is high, the item just sits there with no bids.
  15. It's a real nice looker for sure, and I think this book is poised to make a move. The timing is good and the CR/OW PQ is not that big a deal, IMHO. Granted a white pager would be off the charts but a new to market looker like this has potential.
  16. I like the show, obviously but I commented to my sons that it was a bit too syrupy for me - so yes it was the sappyer of the shows so far in my opinion. The big draw was the intro of BA and all the tasty Easter eggs all about - but lower on the scale of shows thus far the past 2 seasons. The wife loved it thought.
  17. Here we go http://www.ebay.com/itm/SHOWCASE-4-CGC-8-0-Origin-1st-App-FLASH-S-A-10-1956-D-C-id-TNc001-/350948220283?ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123 New to market, 8.0 CR/OW. Wonder where will this end up?
  18. Maybe he's in contract negotiations. A episode before, Thea dumped him. They're trying to show him he can be dropped in a second. That reminds me, has anyone seen those ridiculous ads for Arrow in comics lately? All it says is "Arrow" and then has a picture of Roy with his shirt off. That's the whole ad! That's why women have named the show "six-pack." It knows its target audience. You don't win ratings playing only to the comics fan boy population
  19. I misstated this, It was his mom that was killed - his dad was accused of the crime, which we are told by Barry Allen was done by a blur. oops
  20. That was our guess (my sons and me) (thumbs u Hope it wasn't an evil Superboy, AKA "The Blur" I hope it was I also noted the "blur" reference haha. Was curious if we'd get a Welling cameo - now THAT would be fun. But they had their own Barry Allen, so it can't cross over Didn't the "blur" in Arrow kill Barry's dad? That would suggest someone villainous. Or it suggests that Barry's dad was a villain. Reverse Flash - perhaps super-speed is genetic
  21. ...mine was entered 10/18/2013 - so you're slightly ahead of me date-wise.

  23. 57 business days on a "Value" tier submission and waiting . . . stuck for over 2 weeks at "graded"
