  1. GPA for a 2.0 is $1,560 (admittedly low number of sales), hopefully that gives some point of reference. GPA only tracks sales of graded copies, but I do agree that's probably not a bad reference point. However, the book is on the rise and (I think) a copy that shows nice could get more. But I am not a dealer, maybe one of them will chime in.
  2. That's identical condition to my Showcase 4 You guys do know they sell reproduction covers for this book
  3. None, they are utterly worthless and should be handed over to me for proper disposal
  4. I really think this is a little extreme - sure, some comic enthusiasts will be disappointed (part of me thinks this would happen regardless of choice for Batman), but if the movie does $1B at the box office, you think the residual affect on associated collectibles will be negative? I really don't like posting in this thread (because I have personal biases about the book and own several copies), but I really think this choice will HELP the franchise, not hurt it. Ben's star right now is sky high with Argo. But hey, this is the speculation thread, where anything can happen! what happens in the "BB28: speculation on future pricing" thread, stays in the "BB28: speculation on future pricing" thread I wouldn't worry our opinions will sway the market or anything, there's like 6 of us posting here regularly
  5. Let's remember the sneering when It was announced Heath Ledger was going to play the joker and how that worked out. I think if it happens Ben is going to bring his A game. But who knows, he may back out of playing the role if the fan uproar over him being cast is intense enough.
  6. You're too much . . . but I guess I do have to question the logic of choosing such a controversial actor to play a role with so much expectation attached to it.
  7. I know, I saw it coming when I heard the news. But to be honest with you, he has really redeemed himself with the last few flicks he's been associated with, so maybe not a bad choice after all. Time will tell. Also, consider the cache' he brings to the role, with no less than 2 academy awards under his belt, and he's donning a superhero costume - a DC one at that.
  8. Lot's to say about that book on the GCD, besides becoming bi-monthly they had this: The focus of Sensation Comics changes with this issue, becoming more romance oriented. and this: New logo starts this issue. Wonder Woman costume change*. Now wears Sandals, which are colored yellow on the cover. and Art credit previously given to Irwin Hasen. This book also contains work by DC greats such as Robert Kanigher, Carmine Infantino, Frank Giacoia, Al Plastino, Joe Kubert and generous John Giunta who I understand helped Frank Frazetta to get work into funny books. Considering all of the above, it's a pretty significant book. Can you tell I'm bored at work today? * corresponding costume change in Wonder Woman happened in issue #39
  9. Yeah, the colors on that book are simply incredible
  10. AIRBOY who has amnesia knocks "Pierre Cheval" out, but is told he killed him and is forced to fight for the mob as "Forgetful Jones"...the story is continued in the next issue Vol. 6 No. 4 which I don't have, mm Cool! Thanks
  11. $9,401.00 and better considering GPA was pegged at around $5.5k for the last 3 years. Nice, unless of course, you're looking to buy one
  12. Indeed! And historic as well. For anyone who saw that documentary on PBS that explained why comic heroines changed from strong self-sufficient women to more feminine, albeit somewhat more dependent women (like the one portrayed on this cover being carried over a brook by a baby-faced but strong Steve Trevor). Women were doing some of the jobs that men did when the war was on. After the war, the soldiers came home and so did the women. And so the comics followed suit and romance, marriage and starting a family became the theme . . . and so Wonder Woman was put into service getting this message out to young girls. It happened to Superman (with many Lois Lane romance covers) and Batman as well (he marries Batwoman on one cover). The documentary goes on to track the others changes the character underwent, losing her powers, winding up on the cover of the first Ms. Magazine (and becoming an icon of feminism at the same time) and the uproar that caused (Steinem lobbied DC to restore Wonder Woman's powers and independance) and a lot more. And what was with all those covers with WW crying. Superheroes don't cry? But yes that is a VERY groovy covers in what is amazing shape considering how many of them probably were bought by little girls who read them to peices and threw them into their hope-chests.
  13. Nice stuff added since last I dropped in. Thanks for sharing (thumbs u Would love to know, did Airboy get up and then what happened
  14. Correct. About 4 to 5 days before the Heritage 6.0 sold, I priced mine for $4500. If I recall correctly, I didn't even get an offer. The HA sold for $4800 and since then, three copies have sold for $7800, $6000 and $6400 So yeah.. I remember thinking, now that's optimistic - then why didn't I buy that
  15. I think that's what Brock priced his at when he first posted it. He keeps pulling it down, as it keeps rising above his ask.
  16. Indeed. Most folks today would gladly pay $4500 for a 6.0 B&B that'd buy you a SC #22 in that grade.
  17. Holy cow, that's a pretty dramatic example. Do you mind telling us what it was graded in the PLOD?
  18. That sure is purdy. I'm sure there's more than a few folks here willing to give it a new home I have it listed on a Dealer's site, but would prefer to sell it to a boardie That's good of you to mention - as much as I'd like to help those poor auction houses I'd ratter sell a book to a board member if I can help it and save the buyer the 10% commission.
  19. . . . how about 100 - $1000 dollar annual time-payments
  20. . . . how about 100 - $1000 dollar annual payments
