  1. I'm out of the battle this year The 3 guys at the top seem to be in a real tussle for the top spot. The #1 is like double the next highest at #2. You're definitely making up some ground there Joey, I don't think I'm going to catch you any time soon. (thumbs u
  2. Those Chal's-Shocases are always challenging the wallet Can't wait to see what'cha got Sam I am Hepcat, I'll say again, you got some beautiful raw books (thumbs u
  3. Looking at the books in your signature line, I'd have to say you're being modest
  4. Cool! Maybe you can try knocking that person who's on top off - his set is obscured too - but I have a feeling he's got some big big books in it - look at that score! I was doing the registry thingy last year, trying to pump up my numbers - but I ran out of time for 2013's deal - now I'm tweaking the set so I obscured it again until I replace some undercopy's I've sold etc. I look forward to, as i am sure others will, seeing what you are putting together. Such a unique and amazing series, but I digress . . . Don't forget to post some of those scans here too! (thumbs u
  5. That's true, but I'm less offended by that then other flaws. I'm in the hunt for a #52 - there's a nice 9.0 on c-link but it's a wee bit high.
  6. I wish I do really like those Mohawk's.
  7. CGC seems to routinely mislabel the Showcase 3. That's not a Russ Heath cover. It's a Grandenetti cover every step of the way. 100% slamdunk. Now, because of the emotional scars that you are certainly coping with because of this terrible deception, you and Kag may send me those second-rate Grandenetti covers. . .and I'll even pay for your shipping. Let me bear this horrible burden. Sure enough my blue-label says Russ Heath cover and art, whereas the Grand Comic Database says Jerry Grandenetti. You sir win the prize for teaching me something I didn't know about Showcase #3 - I always assumed it was a Russ Heath cover and I guess so did CGC! http://www.comics.org/issue/12921/
  8. Oh, don't get me started with Flash showcases! They are my faves Another favorite is this one - Metal Men origin - I posted this somewhere before, but . . . a Mohawk Valley copy too
  9. Check out the Vampirella #1 8.0 Frazetta SS here link While you're there check out the other Warren slabs there all starting at $9.99 Creepy #1 CGC 6.5 & #3 CGC 9.0 $9.99 Eerie #2 CGC 9.0 - $9.99 . . . and more
  10. Jim was a great guy to deal with, very friendly and conversant (like me ). Just a pleasure to do business with (thumbs u Bob
  11. These people can add and drop weight quickly. It probably wouldn't be hard for her to do for the role, especially since she's already pretty skinny to begin with.
  12. Yeah, she's too skinny. I'm not sure if it's real, or just by design to make her look like an addict in a downward spiral. Actually, that could be correct
  13. All of the small group of writers, artists and inkers worked with each other on various books from Atom to Strange Adventures and I think they picked up some of each others tricks and habits.Earlier in the thread I posted the observation you see below about the cover of Showcase #51. If you looks at the Strange Adventures cover (Deadman origin) I referenced you'll see what I m talking about. This Infantino cover reminds me of his Strange Adventures #205 Deadman origin cover - the same illusion of a frozen instant in time while someone is falling through space - is created.
  14. Oh man, those are sweet! I need 42, 43, 44 and 45 myself - they are so hard to find decent copies of raw or graded! You can find a zillion #60's, #73's & 75's - but try find a worthy one of these, good luck. Real nice there Hepcat, it's hard for me to tell - which one's the Mohawk Valley copy?
  15. Careful though, I seem to recall what 11 year old boys can do to plastic things Keep em up way up high
  16. Close enough? They are drool worthy (thumbs u Sometimes It makes me envious when I see raw books that you can actually touch. If I wasn't such a klutz with things, I'd probably collect raws - but I got to protect my books from me.
  17. 3 different Showcase titles that all failed to achieve their own books, Mohawk Valley copies. This one was posted before, but I wanted to include it here with it's pedigree companions
