  1. You recommended PODS for this kind of move a month ago, although that was 130 short boxes so a little more volume.
  2. Star Wars #1 was published July, 1977. Kazookie August, 1977. Beat the King of Monsters by a parsec. Publication date may not equal licensing date (i.e. Marvel could have licensed these characters years before any actual publication)
  3. I must have posted this elsewhere when it arrived in late 2021, courtesy of our mutual friend @jimjum12. It's big and by Grapthar's Hammer, what a value!
  4. Top copy is a beater/reader I picked up at a moving sale over a year ago. The guy knew it was a valuable issue - this was, I believe, before the character was ruined in "Black Widow" - but of course it's a beater. Bottom copy arrived today from @Azkaban. Quite a difference
  5. On the other hand, a "rookie card" only has value based on future accomplishments that increase a player's reputation and value. Buying a rookie card is pretty speculative, although some (Lebron, Kobe, Michael) seem at the time like more of a sure thing.
  6. A clean and press will not help with: moderate spine stress lines to cover A clean might help with: moderate staining to cover A clean and press will not help with: moderate wear to cover A clean and press will likely help with: rippling to cover So there's an investment there in C&P costs and regrading but any significant grade bump would probably cover that. It's a risk.
  7. I think subscription mailing changed quite a bit from the days of these early books to later. I had subscriptions (unfortunately) to a number of Marvel titles in the mid-70s and normally the only real "damage" is at the top and bottom of the books in the middle where they were folded and which were vulnerable to rubbing inside the paper sleeves in which they were mailed. There's no sharp color-breaking crease on any of my books. Here's an example.
  8. So what are the "rules" about cross-bordering stuff like comic books? I.E., let's say someone who lives on the Washington State border with Canada would accept shipments on behalf of a Boardie who lives in Vancouver, BC. Could they then legally drive those books across the border and either deliver them to the Boardie or meet the Boardie somewhere to hand them off? Would they have to be "declared" to customs or anything like that (assuming everyone's following whatever laws/rules are in place) and would there then be a fee?
  9. Classic mis-wrap on this second copy. One of the worst I've personally seen/collected.
  10. When I was young, the things my father would say to me.
  11. I had a friend high school that advocated "taking over" Canada so we could get their sweet, sweet natural resources
  12. Here it is. I remember nothing about buying this book - all I know is that it's been with me since 12 cents meant something. It shows the love for sure. I attribute my later love of Marvel Team-Up to reading this book a million times.
  13. Interesting focus to your collection. Here's a few promotional books - not exactly the featured players but part of it.
  14. Gotta keep a Mickey Wide Mouth by your chair according to the comic buying system I use
  15. I think forum rules don't allow you to skip a number.
  16. I think that's it for tonight. Thanks for looking
