  1. The O'Neil/Adams collaboration thread reminded me I didn't have this issue and I love Adam's Deadman in Strange Adventures. Changed that just now:
  2. A girlfriend I had years ago loved BH90210. Being co-operative, I sat down and tried to give it a chance. Soon as she came on, I said "Bye." "What? Why?" "Her eye is "Efffed up". Well, sir? She had not noticed that. Not being as shallow as I was and so it wrecked the show for her. Which was fine by me. I much preferred "Star Trek: The Next Generation" reruns.
  3. Yeah! She's a real beaut! Kinda has a reverse Shannon Doherty eye thing/Pete Townsend going for her but yeah! A new "Lady Bic" and some sunglasses she will be the belle of the ball!
  4. Many times, I have missed great story lines and classics happening in the making but I was privileged enough to begin buying the Moore series at the start from the spinner rack. I must say I was bowled over when Moore redefined Swampies origin. I never would have guessed that he was a plant walking around thinking he was Alec Holland. Oh dear. I hope I didn't let the cat out of the bag.
  5. Ok. NOW you are becoming upsetting. LOL! I could have a long box full of HOS 92 and it wouldn't be enough.
  6. I would have gone 8.0 with no trimming. At the bottom right cover front, we can see where that is also miscut as well. Great cover! One I have not seen before.
  7. That is a good point. A likely production error. There is an example of that in Batman #234. A scrape on Batman's shoulder of varying severity. It starts as a white dot on many copies, then ends as a scrape shown here. There is ONE copy on EBay that shows Batman's shoulder complete without even the white dot! That is probably very rare as I have seen almost all copies have the white dot and varying degrees of the "scrape". white color
  8. That is my major concern. If - for example - I sell my 9.0 CGC copy of Batman #251, which I bought for under $120 in 2012, how am I to replace it? Same book is fetching $1,000 now. I will not sell books that cannot be easily replaced. Not unless offered "crazy money" for them. Money is becoming worthless and so everyone is raising the prices on these comic books. It's ridiculous that Adams covers w/o interior art are beginning to command mid to high triple digits just for the covers alone.
  9. She is. Just a perspective from someone who is looking out for my own welfare, too. She knows I tend to keep the books I get, making value or "investment" beside the point. If I were smarter, I would collect things that are valuable that I hate. Could buy and sell all day with impunity. I'm lucky to have a wife who looks out for me. Not everyone does. I get carried away with the collectibles I love. They are more valuable than lousy money to me. She knows it about me.
  10. Right. There's a scuff underneath the chain link near wolfie's (His right our left) right arm as well. Grading is a dubious undertaking. We read comments about how "some graders are more hard hitting than others" etc. That isn't the way it's supposed to go. There is criteria that's supposed to be followed. Graders aren't supposed to be like McCloud. A bunch of lone wolves who don't play by the rules. Even in the SS area, I have read comments where the supposed witness hands an artist a stack og books to sign at a con or signing, then tips out to go get a coffee or look around to come back and check in with the signer in 20-30 minutes to pick up the books. Is that witnessing signatures? I don't think so. Maybe it happens like that, maybe it doesn't. But the processes used by grading companies are dubious enough where I prefer retaining some say in what the grades of some of my raw books are. I need to be well read enough to be able to apply grades to my own hobby to a degree.
  11. I meant to add you are very fortunate to have such a fine copy. What was your previous copy graded out as?
  12. My friend and I used to joke about this cover being Superman's attempt at a 1970's "porno pose". LOL!
  13. This is next on my want list. Adams covers w/o the interior art has found favor among collectors.
  14. This issue looks like it's on the move again. Only going by EBay ask prices, though. I also go by the number of "watchers" on a given book as well. Seems to be people waiting to see if it will sell at a given price or not, then they can mark up their own copies. An example: A 7.0 being asked for $849.00us. That was last years 9.0 ask. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313&_nkw=batman+251&_sacat=0 Another: A very attractive 9.4: https://www.ebay.com/itm/403169092046?hash=item5ddec021ce:g:1wkAAOSwsExhROsb A couple of posts above say a 9.4 in 2018 gaveled at $1988.00us. Big jump in 3 years.
  15. Same here. I suggested we buy one in 2018 to my wife. I have no sentimental attachment to the Wolverine character whatsoever. So, it would have been exceedingly easy to sell it at a hefty profit one day and get a GOOD book. Got the usual barrage of disbelief and fear responses. Roughly $500 for a 9.0. Just yesterday, I commented the same book is around $15k now. Instead of recognizing her error, she suggested that "if I had really wanted it and it was SUCH a good investment, I should have sold off some other books to finance an Incredible Hulk 181". Problem with that is the books I have I want to keep. It is why I bought them. Ho-Hum. Another argument I lose.
  16. I must admit I am not a Deadco fan. Too slow and plodding for my tastes. Now, Joe Russo's Almost Dead is another matter. I am sure you already know this but they bring the fire forward. PM me and we can talk music. I have a cloud drive with many shows to share.
  17. Highest grossing band of the year, too. Nostalgia factor is big with that lot.
  18. Don't mind f I do. And YOU didn't read the theme and opening salvo of this thread. Did you? DID YOU? While you blithely ignore the 100's of complaints right here on these very boards about damage occurring while in CGC's custody by ham fisted graders and those that unpack the orders preparing them for grading. This isn't CGC re-emphasizing their damage waiver. This is a NEW "terms and conditions" and the actual topic and theme of this thread. Reiterating their "We aren't at fault even if we use your comic book to light a cigar." stance. I consider this an insulator CGC is using as an answer to the complaints they have been reading about. We will NOT be responsible for your valuables while they are in our care. If we damage them, you must suck it up. If you are to blame window bags sent by CGC for signature as flimsy and sub par, then that is also on CGC for sending lousy packaging. I find it hard to believe an overwhelming majority doesn't know how to secure their valued treasures. But anyway. The only way YOU will see it differently is when they return your former 9.8 as a 7.5. And likely then, you may still apologize for them. "Oh it's OK. They are BUSY. Accidents HAPPEN. I don't MIND. I am just honored they accepted my submission. SIIIIIGH!!!! "
  19. You are straying off topic a bit, mates. If I am asked to sign an agreement that CGC or any grader is not responsible for damages incurred in their care - which is what this thread is about - my books stay to home. This may be in response to the recent bad reports we have seen wherein damages have occurred in their care. This would be further refusal to own up to damaging someone else's property while paying for a service. Not the PR response that any good business should issue. If a business cannot perform the service that they took payment for without damages, then ask me to sign a form saying they will not be responsible, the rest will speak for itself. I do not pay a business to fob off responsibility.
