  1. Well spoken. We buy it when we see it. If we can afford it. As far as "manhood" is concerned, it takes a man to point out something that isn't quite snuff. And stand by it.
  2. Very nice, mate! How did it get 9.4? Could be these will go to resale with the pedigree pushing them and not necessarily the grade. A beaut nonetheless. Congratulations!
  3. I agree 100%. They are great books. That is a given. I was only saying that the hype of the collection and the advertising of it are also part of "market conditions". And perhaps once the auction is well over, collectors will begin to compare them to the Church collection with a clearer mind. I congratulate anyone who purchases from the collection. They will be way over my head.
  4. I imagine many buyers with money will do just that. Take CGC's word for it without taking into consideration CGC has a vested interest in making certain they are sold at top - if not record - prices. I think CGC and Heritage have the same owners to a degree, do they not? Only later will the true comparisons to the Church collection start to happen. Maybe then they will feel like they went too fast.
  5. $100 used to be a lot of coin in 1982. I painted houses in summertime for $400 in 1981. Money went further back then. A very good investment indeed.
  6. I think 9.6. It has been opened and caused a crease t'ward the bottom left cover.
