  6. Let's start with a bigger book today... Diary Secrets 29 CGC 4.5 ow $ 1000 SOLD TO bounty_coder The big problem is the upper part of the back cover. But the front looks nice.
  7. ROMANCE BOOKS FOR SALE! Hello All! I will be selling about 117 romance books. There is Gold, Silver and Bronze age books. Slabs and raw - low grade to high grade - cheap to not so cheap. Why am I selling? My wife says when this "stay at home" order is removed, she will go out and get her hair done, get her nails done and get de-fuzzed. Then she will spend a ton of money! Help me raise some funds by buying a book or two. Who is eligible to buy: Collectors, dealers and flippers are welcomed and encouraged. Probies and Hall of Shamers are not welcomed. Payment information: Paypal, checks and money orders are fine. Please, no toilet paper. Payment is expected within seven (7) days of receipt of invoice. Shipping information: For the continental USA, slabs are $15 and raw books are $8 to ship. More expensive books will include insurance and signature requirement. Shipping for multiple books will receive a discounted shipping price. Shipping to Canada and other parts will be at exact postage cost. All books will be shipped in a box. No padded envelopes will be used. Time payments: Yes, this is an option. 20% non refundable down payment via check or money order within ten (10) days of receipt of invoice. Maximum duration is four (4) months. After down payment, payments can be made with check, money order or Paypal. Payments can be made weekly, monthly or in one final payment. I will leave that up to you, but be careful that you do not bite off more than you can chew. Grading: I called CGC and asked for their grading guide. Someone named Mertimer told me if I can find my virginity, then they would send me a guide. I looked through my comic book collection and I didn't find it. Oh well. So I have tried to be strict and I have used some CGC criteria, or at least I tried. So if you are not happy for any reason, all raw books are returnable. However, return shipping is on you. If I totally missed something (like a clipped coupon or restoration), I will pay for return shipping. Slab sales are final. I will try to highlight any defects that may not be obvious on first glance. Winner: First '"take" or (or something similar) in the thread wins the book. PM's are welcomed, but the "take" in the thread trumps any PM negotiations, regardless if we strike a deal in the PM's. So be mindful of this. When will the books be listed? Per the rules, I will list one book today, A bunch of books tomorrow at 3 PM Pacific and the rest of the books on Saturday at 3 PM Pacific. I will answer PM's after I list the books for each day. All books listed on Friday and Saturday will be in alphabetical order. Whew...OK, let's get started with the first one for today...
  8. I will be selling approximately 118 romance books. Merchandise will consist of slabs and raw, with gold, silver and bronze age books. There will be a few Baker books and a few pedigree books too. Some books will be pricey, but there will be plenty of books priced from 50 to 300 bucks. There are a couple even less expensive than 50 dollars. The first (and only) book goes on sale this Thursday at 3 PM Pacific time. Next half will start appearing on Friday at 3 PM PT. The last half of books will go up on Saturday at 3 PM PT. See you at the sales thread!
  9. Scanning a bunch of books tonight, so here are a couple for fun...
  10. I plan on going. If it gets cancelled...oh well. I can't control that. But if you do go, be aware that people might be stealing the toilet paper out of the convention center bathrooms. The sheer insanity of people hoarding TP is mind boggling.
  11. I'm planning to attend WonderCon. Tickets were bought the day they went on sale. If nothing else, parking should be a little less hectic.
  12. I think the answer is yes, as I expect a few attendees will be dressed up as the "Coronavirus". Or at least, their interpretation of the virus.
  13. Here are my personal observations of the convention: Pros: 1. Bigger dealers room, spacious aisles, very nice hotel. General area is very nice, upscale and clean. 2. Plenty of parking right across the street at the covered garage or some free parking across the street at South Coast Plaza. 3. Quite a few restaurants in the area. 4. If you get bored, head over to South Coast Plaza and see how the ritzy people shop. As an example, there is a store called "Forever Twenty One Hundred". OK, not really, but that isn't too far from the truth. Very nice mall, though. 5. Lot's and lot's of books in the room. I sometimes wonder if SDCC was like this in its heyday. 6. Lot's and lot's of great conversations with fellow boardies. Cons: 1. The room could use more light, but I get the impression it will be corrected for next year. 2. I brought plenty of cash, but it wasn't enough. I guess this isn't Terry's fault.
  14. What an awesome convention. Terry, thank you very much for your efforts and contribution to the hobby. Here are some general pics of today's event:
  15. Great time at the Collector's swap. I'm beat, so I will post a few pics Sunday evening. The only way I can describe today's event is as follows: picture a bunch of women going nuts at a shoe sale. Well, the parallel scene was a bunch of fan boys going nuts over comic books. I had a blast today!
