@altair43 , Are you referring to the books that were listed on eBay? If not, could you repost the photo with your book? just wondering if mine might also be in there... I didn't see my book in the sold eBay listings. Mine is a UK (pence variant) with a very noticeable pen scribble on the cover (picture below). I had sent it to Mike in June, 2020 for conservation work (tape and ink removal). If anyone has seen this book listed anywhere, please message me. Thanks.

My book is pictured on Sauce Dog post on January 16.  Dechellis took the picture of mine and another af-15 to try and sell to someone else.  Read the post.

congrats to you on getting your book back.  Did you also get your money back?  If not you should still 1) notify them that they still owe money, and 2) write a whole summary of your experience and give it to sauce dog or the police or whatever lawyer everyone is involved with.  And also give (official/declarative dated) notice to Hero Restorations that you have received your book back but not the money, just for documentation's sake in the event of bankruptcy or other legal/criminal proceedings.

Obviously the odds of getting repaid are low, but in might help legally when showing a pattern of behavior that helps move things in favor of other folks who are still owed.

No, I did not get any money back.

Did you have any communication with Mike or did your book just show up one day in the mailbox?

No, I did not have any communication directly with mike.  This was a process we had worked on starting with the survey sauce dog initiated to the filing of complaints to the Oregon DOJ.  Many things went on in the background to find a way for him to return the books.  If steps were not taken, most assuredly, no books would have been returned.  Thank goodness, he is starting to comply and wether he continues, who knows.

  4. I spoke with dechellis in august 2023 and he was very convincing.  Little did I realize he filed for dissolution.  This guy willingly and knowingly took my money and my expensive book. I always wonder how someone can live with themselves knowingly ripping them off. This was the first time that I had considered restoration and was always skeptical.  I thought I did my due diligence but it was not enough.  I feel sick.

  5. I sent ( mike dechellis- hero restoration) him a very expensive book and money.  I tried to call and the number was disconnected.  I emailed him and got an automatic reply that said "To busy to reply to emails right now, if you are waiting on me, it should not be too much longer.

I spoke with this guy before I sent the books and he sounded very knowledgeable and legit.  This is a real nightmare.  If anyone received their books, please let us all know.
