The problem is, the George Perez signing was cancelled.  This has caused a huge backup in accounting.  I have been assured that everyone will receive a reply.  Please be patient a while longer.

@CGC Mike Can you advise why CCS appears to have gone ahead and charged for Perez submissions?  Should we anticipate charges from CGC as well?  I have not received any email detailing the options for the books I subbed.

  2. Finished the main story and all of the Order killing and got the settlement to Level 6 in AC Valhalla.  I really enjoyed it, but I am not sticking around to 100% complete it.  Forgot when I got the PS5 I actually rebought Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut, so going to finish the post story part of that before deciding if LoU2 or REVillage is next.

I did not like SquareEnix Avengers and just stopped playing it, I thought it was so bad.  That said, been hearing lots of good things about GOTG and it's now half off most places. Might hit that next.  Maybe by the time all that is done, Elden Ring will be cheap enough to entice me.  I don't mind being behind several months to a year on the biggest titles.  Most of the time, anyway.

Reminder, what this is all about, and why anyone bothers prying further into the Promise Collection story.

The Promise story guarantees a premium; if it didn't the tale of two brothers would be moot.  This story is the anchor buoying the groundbreaking sales enjoyed by many of these books. The hyperbole, the mystery, the patriotic appeal, over-the-top grades and poignant charm of promises made and patriotic sacrifice in war are the crucible that forged the phenomenal success of this collection. In my estimation these are the key reasons so many folks are determined to verify the facts behind the back-story.  This is the means of guaranteeing the long-term popularity of this pedigree.  It's a lot more than curiosity. It's a financial imperative to have all the facts since so much rides on the validity of this tale.

Uh oh.  Richard might kick you off the "share a margarita and chips with" list.  :baiting: to both of you.

I hardly ever post here or the boards now, and I haven't gone after any Promise books, but to say that the story hasn't had SOME impact on prices doesn't make sense to me.  Graded comics can be distilled into more commodity like items than many types of antiques, but provenance still matters in this and most collecting fields.  It just does.  Can I say it equaled 1 3x premium?  No.  But I'd be lying if I said the story didn't help the prices go up to some degree.  As a result, the story is subject to investigation and refutation, regardless of whether Heritage or anyone else wants to spill the beans.

Well as I said could be press or could be mishandling at CGC. I do have a lot of faith in the pressing service I used. Just incredibly frustrating and it really does give me pause.

No idea who your presser is, but my money is almost always on CGC for finger bends/similar damage. It is too constant a refrain from experienced boardie graders and I hear it from at least one world class presser, that these things appear on books after being sent.

So 10 months ago i sent two ASM 361's to be signed and Marc Bagley and pressed at CGC.

I think people missed this part.  Sounds like you submitted for an in house signing.  If so, 10 months TAT even with pressing is way outside the norm.  Call.

It’s still a huge mess. If you have the ps4 physical edition, the latest patch breaks the game entirely (as in, it won’t work) it’s barely at what they promised us at launch, and it only runs well on next gen. There’s just so much bad taste with this game that I feel it will never recover.

Good to know.  I will continue to bide my time.  Plus, I realized I have a sealed copy of Resident Evil Village waiting after AC Valhalla. Plus, LOU2.

I know everyone is real busy fixing things.

What exactly are they fixing? Things? But not login issues, etc?

    @CGC Mike

curious what cgc is actually fixing? Invoices dropping after 8 months? Login issues? What is actually being fixed?

    Mediocre yes, overpriced not really.

    $499.99 XBOX Series X

    $24.99 Farcry 6

    $34.99 NBA 2K22

    $49.99 CoD Vanguard

    $50 Gift Certificate

    Total $659.99 (then NJ Tax)

Overpriced is when they force you to buy garbage accessories for no reason.

Fair. But you would have to buy a gc to their store. Though, I guess that’s better than the games they make you buy with it that I probably wouldn’t buy.

I stopped an early piece into AC Valhalla on my last gen xbox so I could rebuy and play on PS5. Can’t wait to hit Ghosts of Tsushima directors cut next after completing the whole launch edition already.  What a great game.

Was reminded yesterday why I hate GameStop. Happened to be in the mall and figured I’d pop in and see if they have the Xbox Series X (I currently have an Xbox one S which runs fine but wouldn’t mind upgrading).

me: Any chance you guys have Xbox Series X?

Gamestop Employee: yes, but it comes in a bundle with nba 2k22, far cry 6, call of duty vanguard and a $50 gift card for $659.00

me: that’s fine, can I substitute the games, and pick different ones that are the same price?

GsE: no you need to get those.

    me: Fine, ring it up.

    GsE: ok.

GsE goes in back to get everything comes out and rings it up.

GsE: Ok that will be 780.

me: I know it’s a new year, but when did tax hit 20%?

GsE: O we’re out of physical copies of the games so you have to get digital and those cost more.

Me: the sign says it’s $659 for those games, it doesn’t specify physical or digital, so honor the price with digital or let me select three physical games that are the same price.

    GsE: sign says physical.

    Me walks over to sign

Me: I’ll pay double if you can point to anywhere on the sign it says the word “physical”.

    GsE:….. well it should.
    me walks out.

Gamestop has basically only been selling overpriced mediocre bundles the whole time for the PS5 and the X.  By the way, word is that there are a lot of Targets that will be restocking PS5s this week, to the point it could really hit the aftermarket prices.

Heh... around ten years ago I won something considered high value from Heritage and tagged Voldemort in the post asking how long it takes for heritage to ship since it seemed like it was taking an awfully long time.

Heritage and Steve were none too happy but Steve did make sure that my item was sent next day.

    You “tagged” cbcs? I’m lost
