  1. Here are my rules. Read them carefully. Your life may depend on it.

Whoever works out a deal for the book first wins. If that's in the thread here, fine. If it's in a PM, fine. Whoever gets to agreement on the terms with me first, wins.

Here's the rest. I will take Paypal.  I will possibly accept other forms of payment if I trust you (please check first). Shipping is US only at a flat rate of $10 for priority.  Payment is expected within 7 days unless we work something out in advance.

If I have you on ignore, or if you are on the PL or HOS, I will not sell to you. Sales on CGC books are final unless I screwed something up.  Assume books are pressed unless stated otherwise.

What else can I think of? Nothing at the moment. But the above is subject to change at any time.

Listing a couple of books without pics, but will add tomorrow.  To be clear, an unqualified takeit trumps one waiting on pics.

Check out my thread soon in GA/SA/BA for Star Wars 1 and She-Hulk 1.

  2. Lol.  Everyone knows CGC "Consultant" [not employee and therefore exempted from the (DOES IT EVEN EXIST ANY MORE?) policy of CGC employees being prohibited from commercial buying/selling of CGC graded books :roflmao:] Mark Haspel was buying droves of videogames leading up to the launch of WATA.  No different than seeing him work at/for CGC during the week and filling a briefcase with books at comic shows on weekends.

Meh, maybe not a popular opinion but I always feel like anyone willing to spend $875 on a Jim Lee sign/sketch deserves the express treatment over me who sent in modern slow track books. I always look at is that’s part of what people are paying for in those fees. And I say that as someone who has never sent for a CGC signing event and currently has 75 books sitting somewhere at CGC.

Nobody cares about the 50 people who might pay that for a sketch.  Be worried about the 2000+ who will pay $110 to have a scribble on their Wildstorm #47.

Like so many senior collectors, Tom began selling his collection a few years ago and I got the pick of the litter: FC 199.

"selling his collection" is doing some heavy lifting here.  :roflmao: Was this part of the first auction or the second or privately?  No disrespect intended to Tom or to you.  It's just that the story of at least one of the times Tom sold off comics is a fun one.  I chuckle every time I think about it.  I've met him and he is/was? a nice guy and sold me one of my first early Barks books I ever owned.

I feel like we're in 2008, and valuations are now built on derivatives of derivatives.

Think of it less as a valuation of that comic in that condition, and more as an example of what somebody was at one time willing to pay for it.

You guys need a mark to market?  I might know a guy.

There's been a noticeable spurt in the prices of high-grade books with Barks covers for which he didn't do the interior art. Not sure whether it's two bidder competing for highest graded copies, but those issues used to, I think, be considered clearly in the second rank and typically sold at a discount. For instance, I bought this some years ago for significantly less than I probably would have had to pay for an FC with Barks interior art in a lower grade.

When I sold my 9.4 about 10 years ago, it was the highest graded copy.  I think there is now 1 9.6.  Either way, I still regret not holding onto that one.
