  1. Wow. Thanks Cal. It's nice to know somebody's going to enjoy it. Cal was very quick to pay. Big kudos!
  2. Kudos to: Nik TSwift25 Calamerica for recent quick payments. to blutobc for a great set of Gene Autry comics.
  3. You can be sure that GPA charts will be the least of your worries the day you decide to sell here. Of course, it will be hard to find buyers on the day of the rapture.
  4. Answer: I check GPA, even if it's raw. Question #2: I have this sweet Neal Adams Batman I grade at NM+, OS says it's worth like $40 in NM-, how do I determine what I should ask for it, and how do I let the buyer know that I'm asking fair market value when I end up listing it here at multiples of guide? for $40.
  5. I like how you gloss over the fact that you quoted GPA on a common BA Amazing Spider-man in 9.2. And I was initially confused as to all the GPA pricing, as I am looking for a CGC copy of ASM 127, but have no need for more raw copies. All I have here is my OPG from 2 years ago. Would you rather I quote the $50 from it or the $48 GPA? BTW, I'm pretty sure you knew whether these books were slabbed or not. How? Most people would just ask the question or PM the question, "Are these slabbed or raw?" No. You got on your superiority horse and took a spin around the grounds. Monstro bought that 9.2 you're referring to.
  6. What difference does this make as long as the grade is accurate? Why should it matter if do or don't quote GPA when naming the price? I'm going to look at it when I decide on the price or when I'm deciding to buy. People know if they want to pay full GPA on a book or not.
  7. I quoted GPA b/c I feel it's the more accurate guide for HG bronze books. My prices weren't equal to GPA, they were less than GPA.
  8. Never said that. Those are your words... You're right was being a little over the top, thus the Hey, you can price at whatever levels you want. But to list the price of slabbed copies to justify your raw price isn't necessary nor appropriate. I'm not sure I've heard a case for why not. Isn't CGC's purpose to engender trust in a book's stated grade? Between my experience grading, scans and a money-back guaranty, can't I assert that my grade sensitive pricing is appropriate? You could take the perspective that by doing so you're not confident on what you're pricing the comic at in the first place and feel the need for some additional reinforcement, regardless of it's relevency, to justify it... Jim Personally, I don't mind pricing a little higher here. I'm confident in my pricing but will negotiate as well.
  9. Spoken like a man who took my 9.4 and slabbed it a 9.6. I still miss that beauty of a book. Knowing what I know now, I'm surprised it didn't get a 9.8.
  10. My little ole thread did all this? I like how JC is glossing over his initial statements that he was confused at the quoting of GPA since he equated that to selling CGC slabs. Now, it's transformed into whether the pricing is deceptive. Jim, awe4one, has declared that quoting GPA is immoral and unethical. By logical extension of JC's and others' arguments, if I quote OPG it's raw and if I quote GPA it's slabbed? I pass over plenty of threads where I felt pricing was out of whack, especially if a raw book is priced at GPA. Many times, I will consider that, especially with HG, the seller might be off by a grade and that the price needs to reflect the cost of slabbing (fees, postage). If I felt it was deceptive, I might PM the seller. But in the case of certain books, like the MH copy of Wambi I bought from pennynike1, where I can get a big scan or really trust the seller's grading, I will pay closer to GPA prices. Personally, I quoted GPA prices b/c I felt that most people look to GPA when dealing with HG bronze books. I do. Over 9.2 on Bronze HG and OPG is basically useless. I then discounted accordingly from those prices. I also offer returns so I'm not sure how a buyer will be out? I think the marketplace usually sorts this stuff out. Bad grading = few buyers. Bad pricing = few buyers, especially here.
  11. I think Kelly or Buettner did the WWII themed covers in WDC&S (20, 22, 46, 58). I can't think of any war themed Barks covers in that title or the Four Colors.
  12. Wow. Those are pre-BP prices too ($1800). Blowing GPA out of the water on these. I need to check my issues under 100 for any gems. Granted, these are file copies and I think each is the top census. Somehow I doubt the 9.4s will be top census for long once these prices hit. With BP, each of them is over $2100 with two weeks to go.
  13. Kudos to AtlasFan for a couple of super sweet slabbed DDs.
  14. You need to look at that issue again. Nothing I've seen here is in the same ballpark.
  15. It's obvious you do but then don't follow through. Most people reading threads know this now. It's all good. My point has been made. I'm done here. R. Divad: I like you both here so I hope you'll appreciate it when I say this. You do insinuate. You do ask questions and then not participate in further discussion. You do have a high level of sarcasm. If you think something needs to be said, then do it. One liners and vague hints just infuriate people. Others may not agree with a straight forward critique but at least we'll all be on the same page.
  16. Do we have to have an explicit rule for everything around here? First, I read the forum (the Comics Market - Forum Only Selling Forum) guidelines as requiring that threads soliciting books have a price that the books will sell for. How happy is everyone going to be if people start posting a complete for sale thread (with thumbnail pictures, grades for books, payment methods, delivery options, etc.) within the announcement thread? The only thing missing would be a price for the books. What if the posts are made days or weeks in advance of the anticipate thread creation date? What if the resulting thread that does get posted only has a fraction of the books listed that were announced b/c the others sold via PM? How much are people are going to view the announcement thread as just that vs. a solicitation for PM offers? This place is a good thing we have going. I personally am not aware of anyone crossing that imaginary line yet. However, it is a sliding scale people. The more you appear to be soliciting PM offers on books, the more some people will be upset about it. Again, I think all threads within the For Sale forum require prices. The Announcement thread is no exception.
  17. I don't know if this is sarcastic or not, but there are. The announcement thread is a part of the For Sale forum. I don't think it's right to announce a sale and solicit offers on books.
  18. Kudos to: skypinkyblu coinaddict scrooge mike h capt comics for buying my junk and paying quickly to: wrightson fan who understands that I'm a delayed-paying-tool when it doesn't involve Paypal. r1970d who held a book for a long time and made a collector buddy of mine very happy by completing a run for him
  19. Not the highest grade, but my first copy of this book. Nice page quality and no tanning on the covers.
