  1. Congrats That's a major accomplishment! Especially considering I didn't think anyone ever won with an internet absentee bid in that auction. I think I felt the same way but I had to give it a shot since I needed the issue and this is the highest grade copy I have ever seen. The floor bidders certainly have an advantage since they can trump any peviously made bid. I like Heritage's new online bidding process which seems to even those odss. Maybe somebody read my post b/c after I made it, I got notice that I won 1 of the 12 lots I bid on.

  3. BrianR and Paul (Mr.Schomburg): If you will delete the space between your thumbnail links (they'll be on the same line), you can fit about 5 thumbnails on one line. This makes viewing these posts infinitely easier.
  4. We have a thread already. The discussion thread was created for the purpose of warning others in situations that had not yet risen to the probation level. In my case, it was a seller who did not respond for almost a month after payment but who was selling more books. You don't have to wait 30 days, just out them in the discussion thread.
  5. Kudos to skypinkyblu and capt_comics for super quick payment.
  6. Call me slow, but I want to echo the suggestions to buy a ground glass loupe. Today I received a 10x Belomo triplet loupe that I ordered from an Amazon seller. It was only about $25 shipped. I'm blown away by what it can pick up. Some very slight professional color touch popped out on a book. Granted I knew where to look thanks to grader's notes, but I can completely see this saving me money down the road. I doubt I will buy a raw book in person >$100 without using it. It is amazing.
  7. Your actions after the fact can establish a contract existed. Here, he acknowledges the debt and even tries to send books and/or promises more money.
  8. Now 3 out of 4. Nothing says you have to keep business disputes private. For shadroch: You don't always have to have a writing to have a contract.
  9. I'm going to be listing the following books and more over the next few days. All of these are from an original owner collection purchased today.
  10. Hasn't this guy exhibited a long enough pattern to merit a permanent entry on the probation list? All one has to do is check his history here to see nothing but long delays that don't get any communication until Paypal disputes are filed.
  11. TB: He and I have agreed to meet to discuss whether a total or partial refund will be given. I am considering having the ct removed also.
  12. Slight (P) - small amount of color touch
  13. As a follow up for anybody who missed it and might care. This is how the FC 108 came back from CGC:
  14. The TOS notes are what you might find on a GLOD or PLOD but it is a defect acceptable in that grade. Maybe that's the reason? As for the IM, it's more like a GLOD notation. I don't think this signals a trend to notes on blue labels.
  15. I want say here that I think I responded to JC in a less than appropriate manner last night. I made a sarcastic remark to him based on an incorrect assumption on my part. I haven't gone back to read the whole DaleRoberts thread but I think I understand now that he was breaking at least 1 of the rules of posting here. I did not see that at the time. My apologies to JC.
  16. I can't stop looking at this one that I got this week.
  17. I'm starting to really appreciate my local comic show.
  18. My job ain't a job. It's a damn good time. City to city, I'll be rocking my rhymes.
  19. 10 days without Ducks is like an eternity. Here's one that I picked up that won't be staying with me long I imagine.
  20. They're bargains. I figure if I can get someone to buy them, I won't be tempted.
  21. Filter81 has a couple of nice Mile Highs in the For Sale forum.
