  1. The cover story is about a comics dealer who never disclosed "pressing"!
  2. This one is awesome. I don't think I have ever seen it before.
  3. Thanks for sharing, Jeff. Some of the results surprise me, some don't.
  4. A full set (including the Hellboy card that appeared before the comics) sold for $9.95 a few months back. I found out later that day. Someone got quite the deal. For under $10 - No kidding, Nick, that is a deal. I see there were only 1,200 sets produced. The Mark Schultz card is very nice too.
  5. Great stuff as usual, J. Love looking at your collection on myslabbedcomics. Some cool books.
  6. Did you know this actor, Iron Eyes Cody is Italian? He was born Espera Oscar de Corti, though he was born in the US. A bit of useless trivia.
  7. Dang Rich. Those are sweet. Behind his Uncle Frank, Kelly is my favorite fantasy artist
  8. My OO copy that I bought off the stands
  9. Not sure if this is helpful and/or redundant. I had wanted to add an Okajima to my Uncle Sam National Comics collection. Sent an email to Matt asking what he knew of the Qualitys in the collection. Below is his reply from Feb. 2012. Hey Jeff, Alan Barr obtained about 1/3 of the books when they went to auction, and we have his master list. On it are these five Quality books: Candy 2 10 Quality 1949 Humor 1 9.4 Candy 2 17 Quality 1950 Humor 1 6.0 Candy 2 35 Quality 1952 Humor 1 8.0 National Comics 45 Quality 1944 Superhero 1 6.0 National Comics 46 Quality 1945 Superhero 1 1.5 There's obviously more, but probably not much more. The books were divided up with no regard to titles, value, etc, so if Alan landed only five in his group, there probably isn't many more out there. Matt
  10. Are you wanting to include characters that started initially in a comic book or any that appeared in one, Nick? Properties like Tarzan, the Shadow, Captain Midnight, Casper, numerous cartoon/TV characters, etc. that didn't start out there but have strong ties to comics. I suspect that list would be huge so not what you're looking for. And I assume too that unaired pilots like Superboy (1961) would not be included. And specials like the Legends of Superheroes (Roasts) (1979)? Some off the top of my head Captain Marvel serial (1941) Blackhawk serial (1952)
  11. These are great. I amazed how well done the Fleischer animation was. True classics.
  12. Nice copy, Dave One of my fav Vallejo covers - good way to close out the year.
  13. I finally got Ken Bald added to this one (thanks to Rich Henn ) Obviously my oldest SS book
  14. My favorite comic strip of all time. Very cool books!
