  1. Somewhat related and someone correct if I'm wrong but if I remember too with a prescreen, they count all the books in the submission even if they don't pass so there would be numbers assigned to books that would not be in the census/registry.
  2. 1-9-14 still sitting at graded - slow track value.
  3. Congrats on finishing the run, Devin. That is awesome and tough. I bought these when they came out and loved them. Still have them around somewhere. I picked up a batch of Digests from you quite a while ago too. I did see the GCD indexer notes the Bridwell commentary. http://www.comics.org/issue/358605/ "Nelson goes over the history of Adventure Comics and its predecessor titles, New Comics and New Adventure Comics. He covers several of the features that were a part of it, including Federal Men, Nadir, Sandman, Hourman, Starman, Manhunter, Superboy, Green Arrow, Johnny Quick, Aquaman, Legion of Super-Heroes, Congorilla, Tales of the Bizarro World, Supergirl, Black Orchid, Justice Society, a new Starman, and Dial H for Hero (among others). Includes six cover reprints from the series. (This sequence added 2008-09-07 by Allen Ross, replacing 6 cover reprint sequences.)"
  4. I'm starting to get a complex. Still waiting. Anyone else have slow track values from early January still waiting?
  5. How does someone submit 3 books under value FT when there is a 15 book minimum for that tier? Through a dealer who submitted a bunch, of which 3 were mine. That makes perfect sense, I should have thought of that. That all sounds about right, but for CGC's math you need to count only business days (in 3 months you have 24 weekend days) and subtract Fridays of major cons that CGC sets up at or major holidays. With all that your 90 days probably turns into about 65 days, which isn't too far off of their stated TATs. They told me 4 months so I think it may be closer to 80-85 business days. Using 21 average business days a month. Not counting cons so it is probably less than this though. Yeah, you're probably right, and that puts it at quite a bit longer than the posted 59 day TAT they're currently advertising. But if he gets a 2/3 Value sub that is already graded to be shipped in 3 more weeks, he's looking pretty good for the 60 day mark. Moved to Grading/QC today. 4/9/13 This is what I don't get. You would think they go in order as mine were received almost a full month earlier - same tier yet mine are still sitting at Graded I'm sure there must be some logic to how they process but I don't see it here. Glad yours moved forward though.

  7. I have two value slow tracks both at graded. One was received on 1-9-14 and the other 1-31-14. I don't keep track anymore of when they move to the next step So roughly 60 business days right now for the 1-9 still waiting for encapsulation and shipping. No complaint as I knew slow track was slow track.
  8. I'll stumble in compared to the ones above. Nice books folks.
  9. I wondered this too I had a book signed by Stan that was a slabbed 4.0 ow. After his signing, it came back as 4.5 ow-w. No press at all. Not only a grade bump but PQ improved too.
  10. Hey, this is in Prague! My wife and I saw this on our honeymoon there. Whew, relieved that I could finally comment in this thread. Get it, relieved? A visual for *issing contest. That is bizarre but if I ever go to Prague, I'll have to whiz by and take a look.
  11. That scenario has happened a LOT on here, going back to the day CGC opened it doors. That's true since I've been here. Although not a PIF, the recent Red Rocks/Superman #1 mess was just incredible.
  12. Why not speak up? What's he got to lose? Or is there something we're not supposed to know... Whether or not there was any intent to play the system, the buyer and the book (as it sits now) I would think will be forever be labeled. Just like the bathroom book from Seinfeld. Why? He didn't do anything wrong, right? I would hope not but do you think even if he says that and it is true, everyone will believe it? I personally have no clue but admit it would at the back of my mind. Oh and kav, you're falling behind, go here
  13. And the book quote=Bleuhawaii] Why not speak up? What's he got to lose? Or is there something we're not supposed to know... 14. I'm curious how long some posters think CGC graders spend on a book. 12 seconds? 20? Some of the posts seem like they imagine Graders do extensive CSI type investigative exams. I'd think it depends on the book. I'd venture a guess and say 30-60 seconds. Some more, some less depending on era, grade, resto, etc. I hope they are well paid for that one minutes work. No salary quoted but they have had a job opening on their website for as long as I can remember - http://www.cgccomics.com/about/careers.asp "CGC is hiring: Comic Specialists or Graders We are seeking professional specialists or graders with experience in vintage and modern comics, restoration and knowledge of pedigree. Our graders work as a team, combining their expertise with proven processes to accurately evaluate, authenticate and grade comics, magazines and lobby cards. Located in Sarasota, FL, we offer excellent benefits including medical and 401(k). Salary commensurate with experience. If you feel you meet the qualifications, email your résumé to careers@CGCcomics.com or fax your résumé to 941-360-2558."
  15. I can imagine. I had one back when they were issued but I was so anal even then about cutting up a comic that I gave it to a friend of mine. I never clipped one stamp.
  16. The colors really pop on the Tomb of Terror - cool book
  17. I was happy to pick this one up recently. Have always liked this cover.
  18. Well I can finally join this club. I had wanted a complete book for a while. Just the MVS book - not every comic. It has all the stamps neatly clipped and applied. Pic of last stamp page
  19. Bright colors on those two, MM. Always great to see books this old posted by the original purchaser.
