  1. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wolverine-35-1988-CGC-9-6-NM-1-4-rare-high-grade-/320828172615?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item4ab2d96947#ht_500wt_1261 The only thing that link shows is that a 9.6 isn't worth $250  Someone will pay it sooner or later or somewhere near that price....I'd pay $300 to $400 for a 9.8 daken2626 (added 10/14/11) Shouldn't you pay off what you owe first? You are on the porbatian list for a reason. It's all a misunderstanding. He has these two roommates, Janet and Chrissy. They had their rent money all ready to pay to Mr Roper when it goes missing. Believing a burglar has stolen their rent money, they frantically try to avoid Mr. Roper until they can replace it. After Daken and Janet find their apartment door unlocked and the cash missing, Chrissy arrives and insists that she left the envelope containing the rent money on a shelf. Daken calls the police. While the three roommates worry about trying to get a loan, Mrs. Roper convinces her husband to invite them out to dinner. While at dinner, Daken decides to pay Mr. Roper the rent money instead of using it to purchase the two books he posted on. It wasn't until a couple of months later that Mr. Roper confesses that he he was in the apartment earlier fixing a leak in the kitchen and saw the rent money on the shelf. So, to save everyone a little trouble, he went ahead and picked it up. Unfortunately for Daken, he had already been added to the Probation List by the time Mr. Roper confessed. Emmy worthy

  3. Cool stuff, BZ. I discovered Merritt after I had read most everything I could find by ERB. I wasn't disappointed.

  12. For me, I'd rather know what if anything was done to the book in its history. Given that grading is subjective, knowing what previous grades were (higher or lower) is not of great value to me. In the end, I buy the book not the label if I have options; however, much of what I buy are GA books in which there are few (sometimes no) census copies so I often take what I can get. For those books, I do have my own taboos - prefer unrestored but will take it as long as there is no trimming, married pages, incompletes and try to stay away from slightly brittle and brittle pages.
  13. I hate to break it to you after the sale, but you know that copy of Godzilla that was signed by Richard Evans and Eric Powell? Well, it did come from Bedrock City Comics... Blanket disclosure - All books sold by Bedrock City Comic Co. pass through the Bedrock City grading process where they are thoroughly inspected and thus are fully guaranteed. That's an awfully, big roll of TP behind you - you really do - do things bigger in Texas.
  14. Why not? Let's just keep adding to the ridiculousness. Some of my slabs have seen me naked. I should probably disclose that if I sell them. Such trauma could encourage them to become bad seeds. They might grow up to dabble in Registry sets and experiment with pressing. Before you know it, they will be getting signatures and hanging out with PGX slabs in Oregon.
  15. Sort of related to some this discussion. What if books are subbed as a pre-screen and don't pass then are resubmitted (without any sort of manipulation/pressing) and pass on a subsequent submission? I've had this happen. I've only done two modern 9.8 pre-screens. On my second, I resubbed some of the books (because I really felt they were 9.8s) and some of them did make the cut and came back as 9.8s. What's the feeling - should that be disclosed?
