Tough call but I gotta go with the MH Adventrue. You gotta love the yellow and black checkered pants on the crook.
-
gotta love closing a mini-run; just picked up the 210 to go along with the gap-toothed group shot below.
I really want a run of these. Isn't it true that Frazetta drew the cover of Weird Science-Fantasy #29 as the next cover for Famous Funnies?
Oh, did I say, very nice. Frazetta

Great. I get to follow Detective 1-38, and all I'm packin' is Doll Man. If anybody cares, they're Church/Mile High copies.
Very, very nice

Church AA #16 for me.

BTW, I just heard that there was a reported sale of a raw 6.5 Marvel 9 for $35K
No kidding?
-
Wow.
Are you planning to complete the title?
Thanks everyone! I originally planned to complete the title but got bogged down trying to find a #4. I thought I had #9 an #10 but they are either in another box or traded away long ago. Interestingly (to me), the Mystic #1 is the first comic I payed triple digits for ($100) back in 1973. I saved my paper route money for 3 months!
Double your money and sell it to me for $200
I think it is great that you have kept it in your collection for such a long time.

I'm still only up to page 40 in reading this thread. Many of the groups pictured take my breath away. After seeing the awesome Mystics on the Timely thread, I was inspired to try out this group shot. My favorite Timely title.
Bravo

OK accomplished GA collectors....this one should test your very heart and soul.....both sold for a blended average of $12,000 back in 2002/03. Which one would you choose, and why ?
Steve
I assume most will take the MMC but for me - Fantastic Comics #3 - my 2nd all-time favorite Lou Fine cover (behind National #7).

I hadn't really thought about how much my books are worth until recently. I sent in 10 books to CGC and of course had to assign a value to them. I was surprised when I saw the total insured value of a little over $4,000. These were mid-grade GA books. Most of my GA collection is made of similar books so it made me think - maybe my GA collection averages $400/book. Of course, they are worth only as much as what someone is willing to pay for them.

Geez Louise, Bill. Great batch of books.

Since I just added a couple of Heroic Comics (one thanks to Bill - ciorac), I am getting away from the Nedors for a bit to post this updated shot. Still need 5 more to complete a run of 1-15.

Kudos to Bill (ciorac) for the Heroic Comics #15. It looks great.

This is one of my favorite covers. Beautiful copy.

Kudos to whomerjay for a batch of great SA reading material.
Ray - Thanks Again!

Had them all out for a change so took the opportunity to do a group shot:
Incredible

I finally got all of my purchases over the last month or so. An eclectic mix of GA wonderfulness.

These are some awesome Raymond examples

I like it I have been looking for a solid #3 and #4 for a while. Very nice.

Another new MMC
I have always loved that cover. Pure GA quirkiness. Nice pick up.

Nedors are lots of fun
Indeed they are! I'm still on the lookout for a nice Fighting Yank war cover, but until then...

Just finished reading this one. Got it from Xavier Logan last weekend. Tons of fun.
Sweet copy. Nedors

Wow, I can't believe how fast you received your SS #1. Nice group shot!
a little Chesler run... for you non-cheslerites, there ain't no 4-7.
Charles Sultan covers - sure he was heavily by the great one Lou Fine but still fantastic himself

It is a great run. I managed to get them all including the #6 but now I have to add Daring Mystery #6 and USA #7 for their Marvel Boy appearances. Does it ever end
