  1. This is not the prettiest Human Torch 3(#2) but it's a neat book anyway. It even has an ad for Captain America #1.
  2. I already posted this in the Gerber 7 - and - higher thread. I have to admit I haven't looked at all 332 pages of this Timely thread yet, so there is probably a better example of this book already up, but just in case....
  3. Here are a couple more Atlas war books. I haven't seen every post on this thread yet, but I'll bet there are still some higher grade Atlases out there to feast on. Everyone show 'em off! (Please.)
  4. Here's a Navy Combat #1. Not the prettiest copy, but I think Atlas war is also uncommon to find in better grades.
  5. I posted this one in the Western thread, but it fits here too. The water stain is a drag, but I think Atlas books are hard to find in really nice shape. Kudos to anyone who even has 7.0's or higher. Heck, even a Fine seems pretty exceptional.
  6. I can't argue with you on that! I love Curt Swan's work and starting when I was a kid I read and collected every "Super" title I could find. I especially liked Swan inked by George Klein. Or Win Mortimer? Doggone it, you're right! Win Mortimer too! How could I have forgotten about his Superman work?
  7. I know most of the GI Combat greytones have been posted by now, but I can't remember if this one was. If so, sorry to be redundant. Anyway, I guess you could call this one a "pinktone."
  8. This Secret Hearts cover is definitely a line drawing in the foreground but the background looks like a greytone effect.
  9. Here's a Three Mouseketeers #6. The Overstreet guide says that #8 is also a greytone, but I have a copy and I don't think it looks like a greytone at all.
  10. Here are three Peter Panda's. I have several other Peter Panda's that have kind of a greytone look, but I think it's because they used a lot of bright pastel colors that make the covers look painted. I think these three are greytones. What do you think?
  11. I think the other Brave & Bold greytones have already been posted.
  12. Here are some more science fiction covers.
  13. You have some killer war books! (no pun intended.) I love the DC greytones!
  14. Mmmm........greytones! I love 'em! I think I have most of the DC Silver Age greytones, with a few exceptions that I know of. It doesn't look like all the westerns are up yet or the Rex's and funny animals. I'll start loading them up if that's okay.
  15. West is correct and there are other GA comics from other publishers that used a greytone effect. Even coming up with the list of greytones for DC that are post SSWS #45 isn't that easy as there are multiple greytone techniques and varying degrees of usage of those techniques on comic covers. In any event, here's a cover that i consider to be a greytone. Yep...I would call it a greytone! Gorgeous book too! You must have a time machine at your disposal......
