Those Chromiums - not card-size. Sed/Zed card size?

In any case, Chromiums they are.

Blister Pack it is. Truly one-of-a-kind.

Not included in this list are products in blister packs with the comic as an adjunct.

I agree. I was going to comment this was a comic book sold with a videotape

as opposed to a toy/action figure sold with a comic book ala Spawn figures.

So

"Nude Variant" is not making the list?

There were at least a half dozen of this in the height of the "bad girl" years.

Lady Death, Razor, Hellina, et al.

MODERN GIMMICKS

> Silver Foil

> Colored Foil - Incredible Hulk #300

> Prism Foil - Fantastic Four

> Holo-Grafix Foil - Uncanny X-Men

> Embossed - Fantastic Four (white, red)

> Embossed Foil

> Chromium

1st chromium comic = Bloodshot #1 - a chromium card applied to the front cover,

1st full chromium cover = X-O Manowar #0 - chromium used as the whole cover front/back one-piece,

1st full holochrome cover = Ninjak #1 Gold - full chromium cover with holographic effect

> Hologram Card affixed - Uncanny X-Men

> Die-Cut - Ferret #1 (Bullet hole), Wolverine #50 (Claw rip)

> Plastic Jewel affixed - Eclipso #1

> Colorforms "create your own cover" - a Superman issue (can't remember # with Lobo)

> Pop-Up Diorama - Mighty Magnor issue

> Glow-In-the-Dark - The Maxx, Ghost Rider

> Polybagged with loose Inserts - *FIRST* - Buy 10 copies of the regular McSpider-Man #1, get a polybagged one?, Uncanny X-Men

> Non-Polybagged Inserts - Ghost Rider/Spirits of Vengeance/Midnight Sons that had a cut-out Halloween Mask in the centerfold. There were different masks also and possibly crossed over into other titles, Morbius maybe? Ren & Stimpy #1 (Marvel) stinky "air deodorizers".

> Blister Packed - Firearm #0 (Malibu) Special Limited Edition; Premium with a 30 minute videocassette (limited to 10,000 copies).

> Multiples/Variants - Spider-Man, X-Men, (Image)

> Gatefold - X-Men

> Lottery Give-Away- Valiant's serial number contest. For a couple of months each comic had an individual serial number. Then they would post 10-20 serial numbers in the Valaint Reader and if you had the comic (like a lottery) you'd win a gold foil edition or some such.

> Serial Numbered - (Triumphant)

> Optical 3-D (red & blue printed out of register - glasses needed) - Blackthorne

> Indestructible - (Continuity) (What Material is it?)

> Acetate (Clear) -

This is too big of a job. It'll take years. Carry on.

Can we add the "sideways" books to the gimmick list? (The McSpidey/Xforce crossover books)

Sideways probably isn't a gimmick. Anyway, John Byrne did an entire sideways issue of the FF back in the 1980s.

How about Mad doing an issue back in the 1950s printed so it looked like you were reading it upside-down?

Cut-off is Bronze, though. Copper is Modern to me.

MODERN GIMMICKS

> Colored Foil - Incredible Hulk #300 (400, maybe?)

> Hologram Card affixed - Uncanny X-Men (all 6 Fatal Attractions issues), Robin II: The Joker's Wild (also had multiple covers for each issue doh! )

> Colorforms "create your own cover" - Superman: the Man of Steel 30

> Pop-Up Diorama - Mighty Magnor issue

on a similar note, Force Works #1 had a crazy pop-up/fold out cover

> Non-Polybagged Inserts - Ghost Rider/Spirits of Vengeance/Midnight Sons that had a cut-out Halloween Mask in the centerfold. There were different masks also and possibly crossed over into other titles, Morbius maybe? The only series I know of that had Mask inserts was a late 90s mini called Supernaturals. Ghost Rider was the rare mask Ren & Stimpy #1 (Marvel) stinky "air deodorizers".

> Sideways/Horizontal - *FIRST* - Fantastic Four #252, McSpider-Man/X-Force crossover books not a gimmick :makepoint:

> Gatefold - X-Men actually, the true gatefold covers were those like Guy Gardner (Warrior) #29 and Transformers: Generation 2 #1, not fold out covers like that one version of X-Men #1

> Animation Cell - Marvel Action Hour #1, (Real or fake? Used in the TV show or not?) reproductions of actual cels, I believe

This is too big of a job. It'll take years. Carry on.

Amazing Spider-man #400 and Batman #500 also had unique gatefolds.

Jab #3: Too Much Coffeeman has a bullet hole in it

The Squadron Supreme TPB has Mark Gruenwald's DNA in the ink

Superman Forever #1 had that Hologram Cover

Image jumped to #25 a full year ahead of schedule and then "caught" up to it.

Eclipso #1 had that crappy purple jewel on the cover which is almost impossible to store in a regular comic box unless you have a sponge sheet in front of the comic.
