Now I love Americans, as a people, but if I have one criticism of them as a nation it's that some Americans come across as overly America-centric and sometimes unaware of that which does not affect America or happen within America's borders. For example, I find the reports (of a while back) that children were dancing in the streets in Iraq in thanks to the American liberators laughable. Anyone who thinks that happened doesn't have a good grip on reality. Put yourself in an Iraqi child's shoes - you'd be too worried about a tank shell killing your mother to be doing much dancing, I guarantee you that. But getting back to my point about being America-centric, in this case, I would guess that Dice read "North America" as "America" and thus equated "North America's debt load" to "America's debt load". Thus the comment that the debt load was built up in war makes sense from the second perspective although not the first, therefore making sense to Dice but not Joe or I.

As an aside, I mean no disrespect Dice, and I'm sure that if Canada was the world's dominant superpower our roles would be reversed. Furthermore, I do wish Canada was more active in supporting the US, although under a leader other than Bush - no offense intended, our Prime Minister is no peach himself, but it does scare me to think that Bush Jr is the most powerful man in the free world - the man can't put together a sentence. foreheadslap.gif

Man, I love when people stick their necks out real far. Makes it easier for the noose.

Reading comprehension Part 1:

"Looking at the average North American's current debt load..."

"...average North American's current debt load..."

"...average NORTH AMERICAN'S current debt load..."

Sinking in yet?

Yeah.

I'm getting sucked into a person_without_enough_empathyfest.

It's obvious you are far superior to me, so I will bow out gracefully.

You never respond to anything that is put in your face.

You dodge any point made that goes against your ideas.

I'm sure it's no different than any other time you get into a topic debate.

Which is, by the way, 99% of the posts you make.

Joe is right. Everyone is doomed.

All hail Joe.

I was just responding to Dice's comment regarding war/debt loads. What's the problem, anyway? confused-smiley-013.gif Would you rather all my posts consisted of one-graemlin replies like some people? 893frustrated.gif We're all big boys here, we should be able to talk about big subjects if we wish. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Now I don't want to turn this into another Market Crash thread, but...

Deja vu, all over again (from three months ago):

I'm not going to get into rant mode this time Joe because frankly, your binge of the last 4 days has worn me out (do you drink lots of coffee or what!?!?)...but does every single one of your posts have to deal with one of the following:

1) some type of CGC conspiracy;

2) someone scamming somebody; or

3) the price paid for a comic book, and more specifically, your speculation on the future price of comic booksl? confused-smiley-013.gif

Bug's post nailed it...and I would guess the majority of posters and lurkers here agree with him (the inflammatory comments removed since I said this wasn't going to be a rant):

How can anyone not stalk you, Joe? It's impossible not to. You're in nearly every comic forum......puking the same negative garbage over and over...24 hours a day.

We get it. You say the market is getting ready to crash. You don't agree with CGC's stance on the qualified labels........you're not a CGC fan......blah......blah.....blah.......adinfinitum.

Do you not even realize how you sound like when you do this in nearly every one of your posts all over the forum? It's like you feel compelled to keep repeating the same garbage over and over like it's going to force us to agree with you.

In 25+ years of reading and collecting comic books, I never had a single bad vibe about this hobby, but obviously that's changed now since you've been tearing it a new one since July of 2002...

I suggest you take a day or two off and ask yourself why you're here - if you're here to share your enjoyment of the hobby with everyone, then make it enjoyable. Everyone enjoys your funny/insightful posts. If you're here to be bitter and continually [!@#%^&^] and moan...we're tired of it.

And please don't bother responding to me...b/c I'm sure I've already heard it!!

The Doors - The End.

This is the end

Beautiful friend

This is the end

My only friend, the end

Of our elaborate plans, the end

Of everything that stands, the end

No safety or surprise, the end

I'll never look into your eyes...again

Can you picture what will be

So limitless and free

Desperately in need...of some...stranger's hand

In a...desperate land

Lost in a Roman...wilderness of pain

And all the children are insane

All the children are insane

Waiting for the summer rain, yeah

There's danger on the edge of town

Ride the King's highway, baby

Weird scenes inside the gold mine

Ride the highway west, baby

Ride the snake, ride the snake

To the lake, the ancient lake, baby

The snake is long, seven miles

Ride the snake...he's old, and his skin is cold

The west is the best

The west is the best

Get here, and we'll do the rest

The blue bus is callin' us

The blue bus is callin' us

Driver, where you taken' us

The killer awoke before dawn, he put his boots on

He took a face from the ancient gallery

And he walked on down the hall

He went into the room where his sister lived, and...then he

Paid a visit to his brother, and then he

He walked on down the hall, and

And he came to a door...and he looked inside

Father, yes son, I want to kill you

Mother...I want to...f*** you

C'mon baby, take a chance with us

C'mon baby, take a chance with us

C'mon baby, take a chance with us

And meet me at the back of the blue bus

C'mon, yeah

This is the end

Beautiful friend

This is the end

My only friend, the end

It hurts to set you free

But you'll never follow me

The end of laughter and soft lies

The end of nights we tried to die

This is the end

No offense, but I shouldn't have to explain that to you. There could be people on the boards who lost loved ones this day 2 years ago. For example, Gene works in the WTC, right? I'm sure he knew people who left us two years ago...

Actually, I didn't see what you were posting. I thought you were talking about the Amercian-centric post. I don't even know that you deleted? foreheadslap.gif
