You weren't embarrassed to post this, eh?
Nope, not at all. All of those books were purchased off the racks by me at least eleven years ago and placed in mylars with backing boards. I received two 9.9s, nineteen 9.8s and five 9.6s. All with white pages. I was and still am quite pleased. BTW... I didn't even know who Matt Nelson was at the time.

Sucker....even a naive greggy knew that Fantazia's and then Comic-Key's books were too good to be true.

My first submission went out Monday and still appears to be lost within the workings of the USPS. Assuming it surfaces, it is:

Green Lantern 9 variant cover

Justice League of America 6 variant cover

Brave and Bold 164 Don Rosa collection

Brave and Bold 141 Don Rosa collection

Daredevil 131

Batman 300

Ultimate FF 31 variant cover

Ultimate FF 32 variant cover

Everything should get at least a 9.2 or 9.4 by my prediction. The Batman 300 was purchased from BlazingBob as a 9.4.

I'm sure it'll make it there. Glad I'm not the only one who either just sent off their first or having sent one yet.

Frankly, I had been waiting to send these books in but hesitated to try and get more that were worthy of submitting to save on postage. I couldn't wait anymore.

Some really nice firsts here as well.

my first submission was in 2000. I sent a range of books per my grading to see what they would come back with.

Batman 25 - 4.5 W

Batman 33 - 7.5 OW/W

Batman 49 - 8.0 OW/W

Batman 81 - 7.5 OW/W

expected grade

Batman 25 - 4.0

Batman 33 - 6.0

Batman 49 - 8.5/9.0

Batman 81 - 7.0

I was pretty happy until I won my 1st lot of 8.0 Batman's and saw how those books looked compared to my 1st submission ...

Alright, I'll share... :shy:

Certain parties may already know this tale, yet since this is a "1st Submission" thread... I'll relectantly share my tale, but please go easy on me!

I submitted my initial batch, live during the '07 Paradise-Con in Toronto. I had 4 to be graded and another 4 to get re-slabbed to repair dmg./ errors:

1) Human Fly #3, 1977 -- Bought as a raw "9,6", but realized it was perhaps a 9.2/9.4 at best. I would've been extremely happy at a conservative/ realistic 9.2. This one returned as a 9.4 w/ WP, matching 1 other as the highest graded copy for my CGC Set! :cloud9:

2) Superman: Duel in Space (promo comic) #1A, 1955 -- Here's the full story on this one! What the story doesn't mention was that I bid on this particular auction lot as it had some comic related Sotheby's/ Christie's auction catalogs, 3 older OSPGs and a bizzare Library-bound Hardcover of some Marvel Tales, ASM reprint comics (up to #20) w/ an ASM Annual #2 (from '65) in it too! All that and I won the lot for only $25+10% premium+tax... UNREAL! Being my one investment submission, it lied flat and looked good to me, but did have a minor (non-wrinkling) water stain on the back/ upper page corner. Seemed like a good one to gamble on given what I pd. for the entire lot! GA Supes really aren't my thing, but if it came back better than a 7.0/7.5 it would've been gravy! Well, it came back as a 6.0 w/ OW/WP, makes sense -- that staining should be a bigger deduction. :(;)

... OK, now brace yourself for the kooky stuff...

3) Aquaman #8, '95 -- Ok, worse than $1-bin fodder I know, yet I actually own the cover art for this one, so it's for posterity, but wait there's more. Bought the OA at a Con here near Buffalo back in '94, during a charity auction they had -- scored it for only $40?! Marty Egeland (the issue's artist) was there and signed the art for me, then I had him sign a couple of #8's for me too. Now, it wasn't until 1yr. later that I was able to go to yet a different con to have Mr. Peter David (our aurthor for #8) sign one of those same copies too. So that is what I sent for slabbing, the dual-signature Aquaman #8 -- HG, likey a "Qualified" 9.2/9.4 , maybe? This one graded out as a Qualified (which I expected, of course) 9.6 w/ WP! (thumbs u

4) Riot Gear: Violent Past #2, '93 -- Yeah, yeah ~ HUH ?! Remember "Triumphant Comics" from that swell '93 era, their gimmic was individually, sequentially numbered issues w/ the print run right on the covers - different, yeah? This one was (seemingly) cool as it is #14,000 of a 14,000 copy printing (the last one off the run?!) and it had a neat sci-fi cover and it was something I was into heavy back in the day. meh I dunno -- so, it works for me! Hoping for a 9.8? This one came back as a 9.6 w/ WP... :/

Honestly, I'm terribly pleased w/ how my virgin submission all turned out -- EXCELLENT OVERALL! :applause: Reading so many disappointing stories of initial grading experiences, I was overjoyed to see my final results. (worship)

... wow, I can do it! "Some day I'll be a real boy..."
