What is funny is just this past week I was going through a huge box of early 90's stuff while looking for a comic to pass along to a fellow boardie. And while going through it I realized how much junk there was in it. But equally surprised at the flood of memories it held for me. While not even 14 years removed, it seemed like a lifetime ago in my collecting life.

 

So yes I wish I had never bought most of the titles from that era, but overall I enjoyed them on some level or else I would not have bought them...go figure. :screwy:

 

I remember going to my lcs every wed. , buying around 5 books and sitting in the park eating lunch reading comics having no clue there was more to collecting then that.

Oh, and I too have around 4 boxes of toys from that era too. I will wait 50 years and see if I can break even.

I also bought a lot of off-beat stuff like the Marvel Star line. I am assuming these are going to be worth something since I assume most did not survive in high grade, but will there every be any demand. I also have 50 copies of Superman 1 (Byrne), 50 copies of JLA, and 50 copies of Wonder Woman (Perez).

POTF2 Star Wars toys. I had 'em all. Someone stole them from my storage unit, and I was relieved to be rid of them.

 

all the 80's B&W drek I paid $$$ for.

 

everything Jim Lee artwork suckered me into buying.

 

surprisingly, most of my , although worthless, made me happy.

Sports cards from the late 80s and 90s.

 

Almost all modern comics (not counting trades) I've bought except for a few good reads like Fell.

Without a doubt it was all the Spidey books under issue 100

I won from Samco1 when I first started collecting five years ago.

 

I was selling a box of early sixties comics and had never really

seen them up close before and half way through selling them I

realized how cool they were.

 

I went from a seller to a collector over night and bought an OSPG

and unfortunately found Samco1 and thought these are good

deals. I mean they are comic books and how could someone

cheat overgrade books so bad. Talk about being naive. doh!

I bought a a copy of TTA 101 from Samco1 that was supposed to be in VF/NM condition when I first started collecting. Only time I ever bought from them. Closer to 5.0 maybe 5.5 condition.

 

At any rate, here's my winning entry for stuff I bought that I wished I hadn't:

Thousands upon thousands of late 90's early 00's Baseball cards. doh!

 

Starting Line-Up figures (from same period). :insane:

 

Episode I Star Wars figures. :boo:

 

Massive amounts of Mark McGwire memorabilia (after all, no one is going to beat 70 homers for a long time). :tonofbricks:

 

Massive amounts of Ken Griffey, Jr. memorabilia ( because we all know he was going to break Hammering Hank's all-time HR record). :juggle:

 

Overgraded raw eBay comic drek. :makepoint:

 

A few overzealous CGC purchases that in hindsight weren't the best finacial decisions. :P
