This will be like that game of trying to find the differences in these two pictures. I recently upgraded to the one with white pages because of the page quality and better wrap, but I love the Romita signature placement on the off-white to white copy.

Long Long story that I've told in segments before....

The short of it is I impromptu went to my 1st ever comic con a small comic con and walking in the door of it, they handed a flyer advertising the next con which was bigger and would headline stan lee.

I brought 4 comics that I dropped off at that next bigger con within minutes of it opening  it was all so new to me and a seat of the pants kind of thing.

A lowly 3.0 but a Mark Jewelers with White Pages,

An off the rack purchase that arrived in the perfect spot - a six-monthish window between my changing my abusive-to-the-comic reading style and the initiation of a subscription to this title.  My regret, of course, is that I didn't buy 20 copies of this book at the time (I could have easily picked up $4 from my dad to make the purchase, no questions asked).  I became the guy that did that kind of thing for stuff like "Eternals" and "Nova" .  I consider it just a "happy accident" that this book is in fantastic shape and also valuable.

This book has some history for me too. I bought this around 1976 or 1977 when I first started to go to comic book stores for back issues for 95 cents if my memory is correct . I was around 11 at the time. The store was the Million Year Picnic in Havard Square, Cambridge MA https://www.themillionyearpicnic.com/ This is also the first book I had pressed and graded back in 2009. Old scan, will see if I can get a better pic tonight.

Batman has the Batmobile, the Avengers have a Quinjet, and FINALLY Spidey has a Spider-Mobile!  It had to happen.  I remember having a remote controlled Spidey car as a kid!  Amazing Spider-Man #130 has a lot going on with the Jackal (1st cover) and Hammerhead, but there's only one big first here and it's that Spidey's got a new set of wheels! 

Sometimes a comic is great because it's emotional, or has killer art, or an amazing battle, etc..   but sometimes comics are just fun!

current copy, an upgade over my previous slabbed copy.

i remember spotting this issue at a drugstore that we almost never went to.

It may have been the last time I didn't buy my comics at the same two stores, until about #145.

I do track price paid for at least 98% of my collection but I unfortunately never tracked where I bought the book. Picked this one up, likely in the later 1970's for $1.25.
