You can verify their status on the IRS website using their Tax ID number, 46-1883892.  The Giving Center has multiple websites for their different donation programs. He was only asking a legitimate question. He wasn't insinuating anything by it. And calling it "one step below idiotic" is insulting and would be completely inappropriate language from anyone publicly representing an actual charity. Hopefully your first post here will be your last.
