Results of my latest CGC subs including some books from Metro

So, in an effort to expedite the completion of my SA/BA Iron Man run, I decided to purchase some of the holes in my collection raw and have them slabbed. I dropped off a little over a dozen in baltimore to be graded, and was very happy with the results (big thanks to cd4ever, divad, and 2 guys from ebay).

I sent in another 15 comics to be graded in the end of october, including 9 raw purchases from Metro, most of which are from the Tremont collection. I went online this afternoon and sneaked a peek at the grades; here is a comparison of Metro's grading and CGC's:

 

Overgraded:

 

IM #21 Tremont

Metro says 9.2.....CGC says 9.0 :(

 

IM # 21 (second copy)

Metro says 9.4.....CGC says 9.0 :( :(

 

On the money: :golfclap:

 

IM #12 Tremont

Metro says 9.2.....CGC says 9.2

 

IM #20 Tremont

Metro says 9.2.....CGC says 9.2

 

IM #22 Tremont

Metro says 9.2.....CGC says 9.2

 

IM #27 Tremont

Metro says 9.6.....CGC says 9.6

(two claps, very very very sweet, newstand fresh book)

 

 

and last but not least:

 

The UNDERGRADED:

IM # 43 Tremont

Metro says 9.0.....CGC says 9.4 :o :o

IM # 45 Tremont

Metro says 9.2.....CGC says 9.6 :o :o

IM #54 Tremont

Metro says 9.3.....CGC says 9.6 :o :o

 

Suffice to say I'm pretty impressed with Metro's grading on all of these books.

Also have to give a big thanks to Brent at Quality Comix:

IM # 25

Brent says 9.4.....CGC says 9.6 :applause:

 

and a really big thanks to that guy at PGX:

IM #15

pgx says 9.0.....CGC says 9.6 :whistle:

(at least pgx got the white pages right)

Well Metro overgraded three out of the four I bought from them by a grade and a half each, and the one they got right was right on time...Needless to say I will only buy slabs from them in the future :shrug:

My observations from purchasing multiple books from them and returning a few:

 

The books that were graded recently (i.e. the Tremonts) (thumbs u

 

Books that were graded a long time ago :P

 

Their customer service is excellent; I had no problems at all returning the couple of books I disagreed with the grade.

Not quite the 9,8 we wished for lol.But you did ok.have a happy NY.
