That is a fun character. I have one the covers where he was featured...

The Grant Morrison period is the best Xmen run I have read in years.

It is the closest to what I imagine an Alan Moore take on the Xmen would have been like. Too bad Alan only wrote 3 pages of Xmen. Probably the best 3 pages ever for the new Xmen... Chris Claremont was jealous too.
