Thx. I'm just wondering if people are actually embarrassed about their scores if they're low. I'd consider it just a fun exercise. Some people probably spend a lot of time pouring over the scans provided. Others probably just look at the scan for a few seconds and send in a guess. (shrug)

 

It all depends on your level of involvement.

 

Remember, there are almost 20 people who have dropped out already.

 

If you're still in the contest and maybe still not doing so well currently, I'd still give anyone props for hanging in there and not giving up. (thumbs u

 

Most people are not mathematically eliminated and it's still anyone's game!

Me too.

I spend about 10 seconds looking at the book then send in my grade. My two (-2) points have been on white cover books, i think. This is the first grading contest i've been in and it's been a lot of fun. I look forward to the results and the next book. Thanks to every one of you who are putting this together.

thaqnx for taking my query seriously! Its interesting to see the stats sliced in different ways, but, makes sense that no matter how its sliced, we are where we are based on our guesses. as for being embarrassed? yes but no. yes in the sense that we'd like to think we can grade a book. But, in fairness, we arent grading books, just scans. very different. its always nice to do well though! AT Least I think it might be , if I WERE doing well thats is!

Further....we're not grading books....we're predicting the CGC grade. My personal grading standards are different than CGC's.

 

Agree on both counts . . . but it is a CONTEST, not a walk in the park. :grin:
