Nuts! I was really hoping for a mini-report of this Con since I couldn't attend (visiting Army friends in Hershey, PA). Anyone care to elaborate, post pics, etc? :wishluck:

Larry has posted some great pictures and his con report at this link:

March 9th Chelmsford Con Report

Another fun show. The next one is scheduled for Aug. 3rd. Larry will also be pulling out all the stops on Free Comic Book Day (May 3rd) at his store in Lowell, Mass., in case anyone is in the area that day. It's a great time to be a comic book fan!

Fun show. I set up at this show whenever I can. Not AWESOME.

Pictures speak louder than lies. I mean words.

Thanks for posting Bill.

Well thank you for the kind words David, I am going to make a point to be descriptive about your shows in your threads in the future...fair game now correct??

where this has been "fun" I honestly do not see why it had to happen in my thread.

I do not see how it helps your business or mine. We look like a bunch of monkeys flinging poo at each other in a cage. stupid mess.

Hope everyone had a nice time at the show...I honestly tried.

Nothing that I posted was critical of the show in any way whatsoever.

This is about a 50 year old man with lots of time on his hands who enjoys instigating and stirring up a lot of spoon from his folks basement.

It has nothing do do with you or your show.

This is how he works. He drives a wedge between people with his backroom whispers and gossip.

I have been in this business a long time and do have friends. You would be surprised at what I know that he has done.

Larry,

Sorry it seems a bit of a flame-war started up in your thread. On topic, thanks for posting the link to your show's report. Best part (pics aside) is the "mini" market report. I'm not much into moderns, but it's always really interesting to hear about where the market (especially in this area) is moving. I should be home from vacation in August, so hopefully I'll finally get a chance to make it to one of your shows.

Thanks for the kind words Mac Man, It will be a pleasure to meet you. Any board member who wishes to attend, just mention the CGC board at the door, you are all on the comp list. It has taken a few years to build the floor, but there is truly something for everyone. I need a quality "exclusive" manga dealer, if anyone has a lead...a golden age specialist could not hurt. I have changed the frequency from 4 times a year to 3 so I can focus on my yearly FCBD promotion. toying with the idea of a weekly market report on site as well.

In case it was lost in the shuffle, thanks Larry! It was a great show! I spent hours there. It lives up to its name as the Best Small-town Show. You've obviously spent time and effort on it, judging by the amount and quantity of dealers and guests that I've seen grow in the years that I've been attending. (thumbs u

Some great local press coverage of the show:

Comic Book Guys Converge

CHELMSFORD - Wearing a “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” T-shirt and sporting a goatee and shaved head, Rich Caron, of North Grafton, asked to see a copy of the comic book “Strange Tales.”

“I’d let you have it for $75 if you want,” said dealer Ken Dunn, of New Hampshire.

Published in 1962, the comic featured the Human Torch, and was one among tens of thousands of comics for sale at the Radisson Hotel in Chelmsford, Sunday.

Collectors flipped through boxes of comics on foldout tables, looking for the one they wanted to buy.

“Batman’s my favorite,” said Jordan Durant, 22, of Haverhill.

Durant, who wore patches on his clothing of the bands Iron Maiden, Overkill and Slayer, picked up some Batman books, Star Wars trading cards and a few comics about giant robots.

Aside from creating a one-day, comic superstore, the convention also gave a venue to comic book artists.

Thanks Chris,

It would be great to have you give the show another shot. I know how hard it can be to not have a show be worth your valuable money and time, believe me. I set up at my first show in 1987. This show is just over the hump. It is worth another shot.

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you and all board members to the store for free comic book day may 3rd, c'mon down and have a few dogs and cold ones on me.
