Received this earlier this afternoon (and similar questions over the last few weeks):

Q: Hey Kevin, I have a question for you. This always confuses me so I was hoping you could shed some light. I was looking over the schedule and layout for the Fan Expo and was wondering, if a comic book artist/writer has an assigned table, will they be signing and/or sketching from there as well as their designated signing time?

A: Basically, if a creator has a signing time in the signing area AND has a table in the guest area it means that they are supposed to sign only in the signing area and use the table for doing sketches, selling original artwork & scripts and other items (like prints or sketchbooks) they may bring to the show.

If they have a table and are not scheduled to sign in the signing area it means that they will be signing and possibly sketching at their table for the weekend. The reverse is also true - if they have a signing time and no table then they don't have a table and are only appearing in the signing area.

This system takes some of the crowds and lines out of the guest area and allows for better traffic flow, as everyone that wants to get something signed will go the signing area instead of asking the guest to sign something while they are working on sketches and commissions at the show. It allows for more people to walk through the guest area at any given time without crossing or going around long line-ups.

Hope that helped,

Thanks,

Kevin

Hey Kev,Will there be any limits to the number of books that can get signed? Other than the obvious, Alex Ross.

From what I gather, limits in the signing area may be introduced depending on how many people are there for the signing and how much time the creator has there for them. The coordinators are there to make sure that as many people as possible get to see them.

Just heard from the man himself that Darwyn Cooke will be at the show on Saturday. He doesn't have a table but will be hanging out and signing with Cameron Stewart and Tim Sale at their tables.

Just one more day!
