Someone submitted a sweet 9.8 Bone #1 :cloud9:.

Someone achieved CGC 10 on 300 #1 as well. :applause:

Flaming Carrot #1 (1981) jumped from 9.2 to 9.6.

New Adventure Comics #28 went from 7.5 to 9.0. :o

My site updates will be done tomorrow. :wishluck:

Somebody (or somebodies) has added quite a few 9.8's to the Invaders pool. Issue 7 has gone from none to four, #25 has increased by two, #26 by one, and #30 and #36 have their first 9.8's on the census. I've never seen this much movement in this series.

I'll have to keep an eye out for some of these if they go up for auction or sale.

If I'm reading this correctly, did all 6 of the 10s just pop up?

Yes. Here's the census history of 300 #1:

http://www.gregholland.com/cgc/issuehistory.asp?comicid=8937

...and here's the new census info:

http://www.cgccomics.com/census/grades_standard.asp?ComicID=8937

There are 6 new CGC 10s, 11 new CGC 9.9s, and 20 new CGC 9.8s.

My guess is that a pre-screen on that book (perhaps from an unopened case?)

occurred in the past month.

Good catch! :applause:

Here's the census history (prior to the 9.4)...

All-American Comics #16 9.4 is listed! Previous high grade was 6.0 I believe!

http://www.cgccomics.com/census/grades_standard.asp?title=All%2DAmerican+Comics&issue=16&publisher=D%2EC%2E+Comics&year=1940&issuedate=7%2F40

I don't see any Tec 27 updates....

Presumably, that`s not even the MH copy.

Greg:

Do you have a graph for submissions by month/year?

Submissions: +14,871 (1/9/2008 - 2/05/2008) 32 days

I'm wondering if Colossus Comics dropping its 9.8 service will show a measurable decrease in submissions or whether there are enough new submitters to make up for the short fall.

Thanks.

CGC certified its 1 millionth book sometime in the fall of October 2007.

1,000,000 books certified in 8 years averages out to 125,000 books per year, that’s over 10,400 books per month, over 2600 per week! This averages 520 books per day, that are each looked at by a minimum of 3 graders!

Where was this announced? I noticed that Steve's Vendio store closed. What's up?

Woah, that's insane! There's a 5.5 on ComicLink that is going for $60,000, how much is a 9.4 worth!?!

Apparently the owner (Verzyl) turned down $800,000 for it.

The book, the offer....simply incredible! (worship) (worship) (worship)

Was this documented somewhere or was this book in the latest Heritage auction?

Ciorac reporting what Verzyl told him. There`s a thread on the book that`s been started in the GA forum.

He announced last week that he was pursuing the Micurio venture and didn't have time for both. He was refunding existing customers.
