I think eBay has changed their disclosure with Best Offer acceptances.

For what ever reason now you never know how much the seller actually sold the book for as of right now.

Example:

Walking Dead #1 CGC 9.8 @$2700 w/Best Offer Accepted

http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Walking-Dead-1-CGC-9-8-White-Label-1st-App-Of-Rick-Image-Comics-2003-/281043039930?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item416f7876ba&nma=true&si=KFwgsqSEnbGhunNGTienG1LtJMc%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

GPA though matching the sale with the CGC serial number is at $2400

This guy is a better grader than me. :/

Walking Dead #19 a sure bet NM Copy!

What is said is even with the back cover clearly all jacked up some eBay buyers apparently are that dumb.

In any case the seller is clearly a tool-bag, but the bidders that would pay over a $100.00 for this copy deserve to be ripped off.

Over street guide has them listed for 20 and under. They have #1 listed NM for 250. BS. I use the zap-kapow! app for prices. I highly suggest it.

I believe that's because Overstreet only uses sales information from comic shops, comic dealers and convention transactions. To my knowledge they don't included any auction transaction information.

That's why Overstreet is obsolete as anything other than a catalog.

+1

The prices haven't borne even a passing resemblance to reality for a long time.

For ebay prices, you can't always assume that one sale means that comic is worth that much. Case in point:

Walking Dead 27 CGC 9.8 sold for $630 yesterday. Congrats to the seller!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Walking-Dead-27-CGC-NM-MT-9-8-1st-The-Govenor-Martinez-Woodbury-27-/281050486652?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item416fea177c&nma=true&si=c2ihGa8bM%252FY7nTEg%252FWlBpvWRe40%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Uh, same book is currently on sale for $379.80. Why would you bid more than $379.80 for the book above? (shrug) Maybe this book below is a great price?

Other sales on ebay for this same book are even lower. You have to look at the trend of sales on ebay, not just one sale.

I totally agree, but am still thinking about jumping on that train while prices are high. I have some dupes. that I would consider getting rid of, if the price was right.

There was a 9.6 blue label that ended at $1,185 about 10 minutes earlier. Do the signatures and sketches really command that much of a premium?

No. Link to the blue label auction?

Yup, but that change is only to the US site. Instead, just flip the same page to a different country and it uses the old tech.

for instance, copy your link and just change the .com to .ca (for Canadian site) and voila, 2400 as you said:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/The-Walking-Dead-1-CGC-9-8-White-Label-1st-App-Of-Rick-Image-Comics-2003-/281043039930?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item416f7876ba&nma=true&si=KFwgsqSEnbGhunNGTienG1LtJMc%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

i toggle between them, Canada for viewing Best Offers, and to be able to "ask seller" from any auction.

US, to be able to view "Sold Listings" instead of just "completed listings" (filtering out unsold stuff)

No.

There is no price difference.

CGC will never go the white/black notation.

Any 'incentive' to buy a black over a white (or vice-versa) is totally in the head of the buyer.
