yeah, thanks a bunch for wanting to pass on YOUR craptastic material to others...what a heart.

 

That's the great thing about the internet and chat boards. There's always someone out there giving positive reinforcement when someone tries to do something good.

I don`t know about you but I wouldn`t want my children reading that 90`s drek.like I said. it isn`t Spider-man were talking about.

I would rather have kids reading 90s stuff than not reading at all and frying their brains with MTV ,PS2-3 etc. but that just me

I envision stacks of Micronauts, West Coast Avengers, Rom, etc. Let's assume that he'll weed out the offensive stuff before it falls into the hands of the impressionable youths . . .

i was making jest of MRCOMICBOOK seeming to think that if it was spidey it was good stuff and anything else had to be drek. c'mon tons of books from the 90's are perfectly appropriate for kids: akiko, castle waiting, bone, impulse, untold tales of spidey- i could go on and on. plus i missed where he said 90's drek anyway.

I rather have my kids play nintendo ds or wii anyday then read 90`s dreck, also hate to break the news but a lot of people quit collecting comics in the 90`s because of the dreck and still haven`t comeback. sales are at a all-time low. These poor kids are traumatized enough with being in a orphanage or hospital. I wouldn`t want to traumatize them more with 90`s dreck.

OK, I have thousands of cheap comics. If I were interested in donating them, where would be the best place? Thoughts? Advice?

 

Christ there are some harsh comments, How about your local comic book shop. I have 5 short boxes of drek that im bringing over to mine. Cant wait to get rid of it.

this is violent early to mid 90`s image, marvel and independent drek. I am sure the kids will really understand this drek. some comics do deserve the garbage can!.

most of what marvel and DC put out in the early/mid 90s and late 80's was perfectly acceptable for children, maybe not super young ones, but 9 - 12 is fine. i gave a lot of my extra krap away this way. sure, i went through it and everything. no image books.

I have the same problem but my drek is smaller. If you have a house or access to an outside area. Set up a table and put the boxes outside right with a big sign that states, FREE comics. Just like you see for free firewood (before the high oil prices). I am sure that some sucker will pick them right up!

Who said anything about 90's? There may be some from the 90'2 but certainly not all the stuff to which you are referring. Yes, there is some Spider-Man, Archie, Disney, etc..

 

Anyway, yes, there are lots of great ideas here. I may incorporate many of them. I am definitely going to do some for Halloween. I really like that idea better than candy. There is a local library as well as a hospital that might use them. I do also have a firepit.

 

If anyone here is interested in my list, shoot me a message and we can go from there. Some is worth selling but the right buyer needs to be found.
