Scanning CGC Cases

14 posts in this topic

Does anybody know some scanners that work well with CGC cases? Mine doesn't even come close to capturing the image (blurrier than beer-goggles). I always have to resort to the tripod & digital cam... certainly not ideal.

I wouldn't mind a little help here also. I went over to Costco yesterday to look at their scanners and found 3 different ones......all HP.

The first was a HP Officejet J5780 A10 which sold for $89.99

next an HP Officejet PRO L7555 which was going for $189.99

and last, an HP Photosmart C7250 All in one which was going for $239.99

Maybe I should try a different store? Or is one of these perfect for comic scans.......slabbed and raw?

that is nice, i cant fit my whole slab on the scanner! :(

Cujobyte did you get the entire slab to scan or is that two scans photoshoped together? My scanner bed is not big enough for an enire slab either but I hear that you can put two scans together with very little effort. I just don't know how it is done.

I use photoshop cs2

- Open Adobe Photoshop

- go to File menu, automate, photomerge

- click browse button, choose first picture (use the one that is top portion of picture)

- click browse again and choose second picture (use picture that will be bottom)

- you will now have a picture of the two pictures together

- look to right panel option sections and under settings choose Perspective

- In the composition settings choose Advanced Blending

- hit ok button

You will now be back to the main photoshop window with your picture merged and enhanced.

-go to file menu again and save as jpeg

After I have done that I just use ifranview to crop, resize and sharpen picture.
