I like to collect comics that.................

I thought it would be fun to start a thread where collectors can state their collecting preferences. If anyone has looked at my registry it would appear that I am all over the map but I indeed have some focus. I like to collect these comics.....

1) All Issue #100's .

2) All Last Issues . Anyone can get a #1 if they have the money but try finding the last issue !!!

3) The month and issue number equal my birthdate (in my case January 9 ).

4) Issues from 6/66 .

5) Issues with the Beatles references on the cover.

6) HG comics from the 1950's, in my opinion the most difficult decade.

7) Treasure Chest comics. Try finding these in HG.

8) Of course I like Pedigrees, highest graded and white pages.

9) I especially like highest graded Pedigrees with White pages = the best .

Some highlights from my collection that meet the above criteria:

Wonder Woman 100 in 7.5 is the second highest graded copy, from 1958.

Tomahawk 100 9.6 Mass copy.

Adventure 345 9.4 White. Dated 6/66 .

Sub-Mariner 9 9.6 White. Dated Jan/1969. Issue 9 from January = my birthdate.

Showcase 87 9.8 White Mass copy Highest Graded.

Super Friends 47 9.8 White. Highest Graded and Last Issue.

Supergirl 9 9.8 White. Highest Graded. Issue 9 from January = my birthdate.

G.I. Combat 288 9.6 White . Tied for Highest Graded. Last Issue.

Batman 222 9.0 Oakland. Beatles on the Cover.

Jimmy Olsen 88 9.6 White. Tied for Highest. Beatles reference on the cover.

Treasure Chest V23 #8 9.6 . Only graded copy.

Currently, I am after 1950s comics with Everett art...low grade ok.

My comic collection is all over the map though...a smattering of vf/nm ECs, a few mid grade Timelys, a few GA Hero DCs, a whole bunch of Silver Age to present..some slabbed some not. I largely transitioned my spending to original art but still love the comics as well.

I love reading 1st appearance issues and I'm a sucker for any cover that's been remarked.

I have a wide taste in comics. I love Archie, Uncle Scrooge, Bone, Usagi Yojimbo, Conan, TOD, Spidey, Batman, Jonah Hex, War comics (ESP SGT Rock). I am all over the board when it comes to collecting however I know what I like and I read EVERY issue that I buy. I mainly collect Modern, Copper and Bronze age with some SA Spideys and FF mixed in.

I like CGC SS comics. Even thought I don't like or own a single CGC slabbed comic (thats not signature series) I do love slabbed comics...strange but true.

I still think that Stan Lee and Jack Kirby was the best comic duo ever. Kirby is still my favorite artist.
