CGC Grading Question

Anyone know how CGC treats staples that have slight rusting on it? Let's say a book looks practically flawless with the exception of some very minor rusting on the staples. Would it still get a 9.8 or would the grade be knocked down?

Minor rust will probably not get any 9.8's.

yeah the old definition of near mint was what a comic would look when purchased new. I've never seen any new comics with rust on the staples.

With Marvel's QC these day I wouldn't be surprised.
