How often have we seen a TMNT #1 for sale on the boards? Not often eh?

 

There was a 9.8 a few months ago that ended up selling for $15k on ebay. There have been a couple of other non-graded ones too.

 

keep checking Heritage auctions and Comiclink (to name 2 auction houses) as they seem to pop up often on those sites. I think we'll not see any of the 9.8's again for a while though.

 

What grade were you looking for?

Something I've been wondering about that I'd like to get you guys's take on... the prices for this book in the 6.0-8.5 range have seemingly been on fire lately, but I haven't seen it translate into increases on the HG copies. As an example, the CLink 8.0 PLOD that sold for $1956 in their recent featured auction seems like a huge increase in perceived value vs the 9.6 that sold for $8k in their Feb auction, which I believe is relatively flat to sales in the last year.

 

Is this just a matter of smaller sample sizes on the HG front? I'm curious if anyone else sees this trend, or if I'm just having a case of the Silly Fridays? :shrug:

A 9.6 sold on clink for 7,000 even with fees that is a great deal. Not sure I think the need for 9.8's are not as high right now because there use to be only 4 now at least 11. I think that if a 9.0 or 9.2 were to be sold in auction on comic link or ebay it would do very well.

I'll be on a hunt soon for a book to join. :) What have recent sales of 8.5 and above going for now? I don't have GPA for latest results. I usually collect GA and SA, hitting the times now when I grew up.

I mostly follow the SA threads so missed this one. I recently got my 9.2 white back from CGC. If I ever find the time to scan pictures of some of my books, I will get this one up although I have basically stopped collecting and started selling so not sure how low I will stay a member. My kids loved the Turtles cartoon shows but cannot cut the book in half. lol
