Finally! In the club of my dreams! Just read it last night and it was amazing (Looks to be a 4.0 or 4.5, but will have it cleaned up and pressed. Not submitting it since I plan to read it again in the future)

Nice book! I think it could definitely benefit from a press. The color breaking creases will still be there but there are some areas I see that would have much better eye appeal with some care.

As for slabbing it, I am a big booster in subbing these if only to get the restoration check and having that peace of mind. This issue has been reprinted about a billion times if you still want to read the story.

Ah good call on the sub basically acting as authentication in this case, that part slipped my mind. I've checked it against the tell-tale signs of being a fake, but even I cannot be 100% sure. I think i'll track down a 3rd print for reading :)

(thumbs u The Free Comic Book Day reprint from a few years back is a cheap way to read the issue as well.

Get a 2nd Print. (thumbs u

Except for the 2nd print, the reprints don't do it for me on this book. 2c

Bare with me because it's tough to explain. Plus, it could just be I'm weird. lol

The original 1st print and 2nd print are the only books I still feel the magic of TMNT #1 while reading it.

The 3rd print is shaded darker, and the other reprints are smaller (plus some are also shaded differently). Those aspects constantly remind me I'm reading a reprint. Maybe to most people it doesn't matter. The story is the same, sure. But they don't "feel" right to me while reading them. I want that magazine size book that looks and feels the same. 2c

I'll bet when Sauce Dog read his book he felt the magic I'm talking about.

My 1st print is slabbed; however, I'll always own a 2nd print for my reading copy.

Anyone else feel that way???

I still love the third print to death.

The "magic" is very faint, but it is still there for me!

Maloney, I'll help you out with your unloved third print problem :takeit:

The collector in me still wants to keep all the printings. lol

It's just that when I feel that urge to read the story again, I always read my 2nd print. (thumbs u
