No doh!

Guess I should have stated it more clearly.

My fear would be a cracked case after it was signed.

Have no fear, as long as the number in the upper left hand corner

is still pristine, all is well.

I don't like signed books unless the autograph is on the inside (1st page). I've seen too many ruined books with a hideous, massive signature in bright gold ink across key parts of the art or title... Get the case signed, save your book.

Really (shrug)

I thought it would get a 3.5... just the usual reflection of his own deep seated sexual insecurities. And no bonus for good word use.

There was a lot of room for improvement.

But if you like him, I guess you don't set the bar too high now. ce'la vie

the todd mcfarlane signing is coming up in a few days here in PHX..

i have two 9.9 slabs that i'm considering having Todd sign the cases of..I don't see any real downside to this, but there are lots of collecting 'quirks' that I don't understand (ie some people not liking SS books and such)..

would a signed CGC case deter anyone from buying a slab? on the other side of the coin, would it 'sweeten' the deal for anyone?

they are both books that I don't plan on selling, but may down the road..that and i don't have the balls to crack them and get them SSd..

any thoughts? hm

Waste of time IMO, just get the books signed...will last longer.

Just signed by Frank Frazetta and at CGC for SS slabbing

My next project is to get Russ Heath to sign this one:

My goal now is to get every pedigree trooper book I can signed. Including this one:

I wouldn't get a slab signed any more than I would get a mylar signed. What's the point? You're getting plastic signed. huh?

2c

Well for one thing, you could give Stan some really big off marker pen, and he could really go to town on the slab... and for once, the book owner would be a happy camper (thumbs u

:insane:

bwahahahahahahahahahaha.

that was fantastic, Vince.

Those are fantastic, and signing the label portion looks much better than hiding it on the book somewhere. Not to mention it makes more sense from a future valuation POV.

any thoughts? hm

Horrible idea! :insane:

I argee, those look horrible. And I've seen worst on ebay. If the book is worth that much to you, just pay the extra money and get the CGC Signature Series for them.

Would you get Todd McFarlane to sign the polybag or mylar sleeve holding a copy of Hulk 340? I don't see how this is much different.

To each his own, but I don't see the point in having a creator sign a slab, since the slab isn't part of the book itself and has nothing to do with the artist.

But again, to each his own. (shrug)
